COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in collaboration with Lazy Bear Restaurant, this rich stout is designed to accompany a rich dessert after a great meal. Combining a blend of dark malts, local wildflower honey from Marshall’s Farm in American Canyon and aromatic Amarillo hops, this decadent sipper is best enjoyed with dessert at cellar temperature. Look for aromas of chocolate, coffee and tangerine peel.

Had at a tap takeover at Uncle Henry’s Deli in Downey. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Some chocolate and coffee in the nose. Flavor follows with noticeable wildflower honey. Lighter bodied and finishes pretty dry. Nice beer.

Draft at Imbibe Wine. Nose is chocolate, orange citrus, and a hint of roast. Flavor is chocolate, white peppery, and light sweetness and bitterness. Black with a medium beige head.

On tap @ Zeitgeist. Black in color with a khaki head. Nose is pretty roast forward and has quite a bit of bakers chocolate. Light coffee, some orange zest, and some grassy hops. Mouthfeel is a little on the thin side, but it’s not too damaging to the experience. Bitter and roasty with some coffee and a lot of dark cocoa. Light grassy hops and maybe some leafy, floral qualities. A light sweetness as it warms up.

Draft pour at Toronado a few weeks back. From notes. I read this was a collaboration, but I’m still not completely sure. Pours a near black with a thick lasting head to it. Rich chocolate shake like aroma. This was a solid, chocolate front stout, but wasn’t one that blew my mind. Good flavor, semi sweet easy finish. Good stuff.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours Near black with a thick tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a very malty chocolate flavor with a dry bitter finish. Yes, this would make a great dessert beer.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown/black with a dark tan head and ruby glints. Aroma seems chocolate with a citrus note.Med + body. Flavor is dark treacle, coffee, maybe chocolate, and something that could be a little honey. Hop maybe be detectable, but not sure. Citrus? Gets a little earthy coffee in the finish.
