San Francisco, a.k.a “The Paris of the West,” has long been home to a diverse culture of bohemians and a bastion of art, creativity, and progressive thinking.

This decadent dark quadrupel-style ale was created in that same spirit–brewed with dark candi sugar, dried flame grapes, and orange peel, then fermented with a French ale yeast. Pair with funky Roquefort cheese and visions of a grand tomorrow!

Aroma with lots of sweet malt - honey, prunes, raisins, milk chocolate - very smooth aroma. Medium body with a low carbonation, a light sweetness, a light tartness and a light acidity. Flavor of oranges with quiet some citric acidity in front of a solid malt body - cocoa, nuts, dried dark fruits, plums, raisins. Finishes medium dry with nuts and cocoa. Surprisingly acidic in the beginning with very pleasant roasty notes.

650 ml bottle, bottled 08/28/15, shared by Erich, thanks!
Brown body, with a small, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of brown sugar, dried fruits, cocoa, caramel, toast, some soy sauce, subtle smoke.
Tastes similar, with some some more orange.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, medium sweet, a bit dry, a bit wooden, fruity, a bit toasty.

Very nice. Diverse, with roasty, sweet and even subtle smoke notes. The dried fruits are quite prominent, but there is a lot more going on. Not outstanding maybe, but really interesting.

Quite a lot going on here. A little bitterness from the hops but not a lot. Something more like a barley wine than an ale. A lot of raising, dried fruit and fig. Also orange and caramel. Quite yeasty, stale and sour. Good work.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Very dark brown colour. Nice aroma of malts, brown kandij sugar, caramel, molasses and dark dried fruits. Moderately sweet and fruity flavour, the same elements as in the aroma, but unexpectedly sour and vinegary.
