COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with a mash of raw and malted barley, oats, rye, spelt and lemon, this beer was fermented in used wine barrels with a blend of Brettanomyces wild yeasts and Marla Bakery’s San Francisco sourdough yeast. The finished beer is dry-hopped with tropical Mosaic hops. This unfiltered ale is alive in the bottle: drink fresh for a bright, passionfruit aroma or age to develop the wild yeast funk.

Batch 1 12oz bottle from Whole Foods Cupertino. About 1.5 year old bottle. Bright carbonation. Medium sourness. A little bland. No Brett aroma. A little lacto sour aroma. Light amber color. High clarity. Not very drinkable.

Slightly hazy gold in color... Aroma of sourdough bread, white wine, oak, lemon... Flavor is bready and fruity, maybe a little oxidized and overaged... Some esters, bitter funk on palate... Average at best ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle (375 ml). Split 2-ways. Sligthly hazy golden with a small persistent white head leaving little lacing. Aroma is of carboard, doughy, stone fruits, citrus and oxidation notes again. Taste is of cardboard, doughty malts, stone fruits, citrus, tropical notes and mild alcohol. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Carboard finish. Meh.

Bottle shared with Tom. Clear gold pour with thin creamy white head. Aroma is sour, not at all unlike sourdough for real, bready, flour, vegetal notes, lentils. Taste is tart, very bready, oxidized notes, light cardboard. Palate is med bodied, med carbonation. Too bad this seems a bit old.

375ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey, bright golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, white head. Fruity and biscuity doughy aroma, rather unspecific fruity notes of yellow stone fruit, a citrusy and tropical fruity touch as well. Taste is mildly tart, slightly sweet tropical fruity, minimally citrusy, notes of yellow stone fruit, passion fruit, a funky touch, biscuity doughy basis. Well balanced, integrated, very nice.

Bottle... Pours clear and yellow with a mid-sized, wispy, white head. The aroma is woody and bready with hints of lemon zest and lactic acid. Full-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The flavor offers some acidity and fruitiness, but mainly I’m getting acute, metallic bitterness that clings forever to my unhappy tongue. Bottle courtesy of richiesd!

Tried on 12/10/15 - had a sour lemon aroma, but the taste was off. It wasn't sour...i think it went bad. I could handle more than two drinks. This is surprising given the ratings and the fact that I like their other beers. I'm simply making a note so I can try another one later. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
