COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vanilla Cherry Dogpatch takes everything you love about our regular Dogpatch Sour and turns it up to 11. We started with our base red sour ale and added a ridiculous amount of Bing, Rainier and Montmorency Cherries to each barrel for a juicy, intense cherry flavor that exudes summer. Then we added in whole Madagascar vanilla beans, building on oak’s natural vanilla flavor. The final blend creates a delicate balance of fruit and oak that keeps you coming back for more. Pair this summer sipper with game bird, fruit sauces and still-warm pie.

Bottled 375ml. -from Beergium. Golden/amber coloured, minimal white head, tart cherry nose. Tart cherries, distinct vanilla, notes of red wine and light vinager. Notes of wood in rather tart finish. Maaaybe vanilla is a bit too noticable for my taste.

375 ml bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The aroma has juicy cherry acidity. Strong tartness throughout. The cherry character comes through perfectly. Jammy. Medium body and medium to high carbonation.

375ml bottle shared by the Joes. Poured a reddish sunburnt orange under a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma is weak for an Almanac sour, light sour notes, old cherry, lemon juice, cracker, white bread and sour patch kids. Body is thin and watery but does have some serious acidity burn on the swallow and soft carbonation. Flavor is bolder than the aroma, lemon and sour cherry dominate along with acidity and a hint of vanilla on the back end.
