Thanks to JK for sharing this beer. Pale brown color with minimal head. A little funk in the aroma, with some sour apple character. A little brown sugar in the taste, with a malty character.

Bottle at MN Gathering @ Skyview V. Orange pour with a minimal white head. Aroma and taste of caramel and smoke. Touch of light fruit.

jcweaver (770) - VA Beach, Virginia, USA - OCT 8, 2011
Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts/caramel with maybe a touch of smoke. Flavor is sweet malt/caramel with a little acidity and again a hint of smoke (though the smoke taste is a little off). Finish is slightly bitter and has a burnt malt flavor that isn’t good.

deanso (10101) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - OCT 2, 2011
75cl bottle shared with friends. Gushed. Thin white head. Hazy amber/blond pour. Smokey taste. Quite different for a barley wine

bobaidan (530) - Southington, Connecticut, USA - MAY 30, 2011
Pours dark murky brown with practically no head. Aroma is nut, alcohol and a bit of caramel. Flavor is burnt hazelnut, alcohol and a lot of bitterness. This was not one of my favorites.

marcot (770) - Campomorone, ITALY - MAR 19, 2011

4.1
flavio_b (281) - ROME, ITALY - JAN 6, 2011
On tap at bir&fud. Very complex beer, strong enough as regard the alcoholic graduation and very strong malt feelings. Persistent froth. Dark aspect and full bodied. The whisky taste is noticeable enough. Not too much indicated in summer.
