Joen (46) - Tricht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 30, 2010
75 cl bottle, amber beer with offl coloured head. Hoppy, bit cheesy aroma, and some wood and nut tones. Good mouthfeel but the taste is thin, biiter, slightly sweet. A bottle is too much

italianjohn (3139) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 8, 2010
Hazy brownish pour dark amber tint thin off white head .... aroma of smoked malt and chestnuts ... taste is smokey and chestnut honey with some fruit and a nutt finish ... medium bodied and a warming brew good for a cold winter night .... disappointing for a barleywine but not a bad brew overall

Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 6, 2010
Bottle: Light brown foamy head on top of a dark hazy orange to brown colored beer. Smell some toasted malts, caramel, hints of smoke and peach. Taste lots of malts with hints of caramel, mocha, spices, speculaas, cinnamon. Earth in the aftertaste. Soft to silky mouthfeel, mid carbo.

Lubiere (13915) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2010
A hazed dark amber barley wine with a thin creamy moka head. In aroma, a superb aroma of burned caramel, burned notes, chinotto herbs, smokey touch. In mouth, a good oily sweet malt with burned wood oil extract, lightly peaty, smooth and enhanced old ale. 750 ml bottle from Brilbecks, Syracuce NY, tasted with GRM, Probstk, and Mike H., Oct. 8 2010.

koekiesbakker (89) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 21, 2010
Weird stuff; malty, spicy. Complex but not well integrated. Nice to have tried, but definitely won’t pick it up again.

probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 2, 2010
750 ml bottle shared by Lubiere (merci!), shared with GRM, served cold in a tulip glass. 08OC10.

App.: Very cloudy, red-orange-brown with a slim yellow-tan head. Aroma: Lots of dark stewed fruits with some brighter notes (raisins, figs, dates), hazelnuts, sherry, brown sugar, orange peel, a little boozy, sweet honey, very Abbey Dubbel to me. Palate: Medium body, soft effervescence. Flav.: Sweet brown sugar, phenolic smoke, iodine, less fruitiness than the nose, a bit of orange peel, a touch of booze, nuts, sweet, a little bright fruit, a touch of wood, interesting; sweet with restrained bitterness and a sweet Scotch finish.

dasabijempivo (20) - Michigan, USA - JUN 24, 2010
Outstanding, complex, multi- flavored beer. This is very pleasant surprise from Italian brewers. Not too sweet and smokey, great beer.

skortila (5873) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAY 16, 2010
Bottle @ UDRM. The aroma has butter, malts and grass. Bit hazy, nice amber-brown-red coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is a bit sweet, has caramel/toffee, some spice.

jtclockwork (16600) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 4, 2010
Very weird ale. Nose and taste of Halls sore throat lozenges. It’s odd. I’m sure it has its niche fans, but I’m not one of them. Rated 8/25/08

NoiZe (2323) - Zeist, NETHERLANDS - APR 30, 2010
Had this one @ Unofficial Dutch Ratebeer Meeting. Amber colored brew. Smoky aroma. Flavor is smoky, some fruits, some malts, some spices.
