Hazy red-amber color, the head disappears quickly. There is some aroma of malt, caramel, and light butter. The mouthfeel I just less dry than most other beers here, strong flavor of dark caramel, almost roasted malt, with strong bitterness; the hop provides some resins but no fruity touch; there is an impression of butter. Long final.
A sturdy IPA, mostly an American Amber; they should control the diacetyl.
As Aloha IPA. A dark amber with no head. In aroma, smooth biscuit malt with floral hops. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with honey notes, floral hops, citrus notes, nice. On tap at brewpub, Nov. 30, 2012. hopdog (12341) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 3, 2007
On tap at Sam Choys in Honolulu, HI. Poured a medium to deeper orangish / copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of floral green hoppiness, citrus and some caramel. Tastes follow suit. Light to medium bitter. shrubber85 (11324) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - SEP 26, 2008
Tap. Sweet caramel malt and pine hops aroma. Dark amber color with small head. Sweet caramel malt and moderate hops flavor. Lingering hops aftertaste. Very nice - great blending of hop and malt flavors. 3fourths (9331) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 29, 2003
GABF-03: Dark amber, close to no head. Mild aroma of scotch-like hops. Pale, bready, with a little malts behind, but with an medicine flavor as well. Hay, sour fruit. Not hitting the style, IMO,. but it's still decent.

Beer Hall. Clear copper color with ivory head. Pine, floral, dank, spicy hop aromas. Medium body. Nice Kona Bud, spicy hop, pine sap flavors on a solid pale malt base--tasty IPA
Red, thinly topped. This is a bit thin, but sweet and elegantly hopped. Not bad. decaturstevo (6240) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - OCT 12, 2010

2008 – Great Hawaii Beer Run
Aroma – A decent IPA aroma with some malts lingering.
Appearance – Yellow in color, nice head and clear.
Flavor – A decent IPA flavor with the good malt background to hold it up. This was about 70 IBU’s it was pretty good.
Palate – Had a good Mouthfeel, the hops made the beer finish very dry this was a good IPA would hold up in the Pac NW.
Overall – IPA fans can get a beer they would be happy with. It is not the huge IPAs we have but still la decent IPA.
Somewhere, this brew went wrong--assuming that they are not using the Ringwood yeast for this beer. Starts promisingly enough as it sports an orange-tinged amber body with a decent head. However, any indistinct hoppiness is utterly bogged down by the diacetyl/butterscotch aroma and flavors. If any style category could salvage this, it would fall under the rubric of buttery English-style E.S.B.’s.
