[2/15/15] Draught at City Beer in San Francisco. Clear golden. Lovely hoppy aroma, “green”, piney and fruity. Flavor has some chewy malt, lots of “green” and piney hops, strong bitterness and a boozy note. Medium-bodied. sir__v (2618) - FRANCE - FEB 22, 2015
On tap @ Alpine Brewpub, Alpine - CA. Color: clear golden blond beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: nice hoppy nose with really strong grassy and floral nose. Good equilibrium. Fruity finish. Taste: nice exotic fruits taste as mango and pineapple. Notes of hops, strong hoppy taste. Finish: alcohol notes. Aftertaste: alcohol and bitterness blast. Really strong IPA! All I like! snoworsummer (5621) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 7, 2015
Draft at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a fizzy white head. Tastes like resin, sweaty, leathery, grapefruit hops, smooth caramel, a little boozy, and sweet doughy malt. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like caramel, orange, hop resin, and grapefruit hops. User134089 (1644) - - OCT 16, 2014
Glass: Pint glass
From: Alpine Beer Company in Alpine, Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 15, 2014
Consumed: Oct. 15, 2014
Poured a honey, light caramel, semi-clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of offwhite head when I got it. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom at parts of the glass. Very good layered, spiderweb lacing along the sides of the glass. Good retention on top. (Sight - 4.38)
Initial smell reminded me of a Duet. Got grapefruit spices, Citra hops, tropical notes, mango notes late, caramel, nectarine rind and floral hops. (Smell - 4.38)
First thought on taste was wow! Still reminded me or a Duet. Caramel, Citra hops, Columbus hops, bitter grapefruit pulp and just feels like I’m tasting pulp. (Taste - 4.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter, slightly warming finish, surprisingly. (Feel - 4.38)
This was a very, very good beer. So glad I’m living so close that I can catch some of these on random nights. (Overall - 4.38)

10/15/204. On tap at the brewpub. Amber with a white head. A bit more settled than the Pure Hoppiness, but still an awesome brew. Caramel, hops, pine with a bitter finish.

Aroma: light vinegar, floral hops, spruce, resin. Appearance: slightly hazy, dark gold, small, creamy, white head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: sweets intensifying, heavy flowers, some spruce, getting medium bitter, dry finish. Overall: very nice IIPA, well-balanced, aroma not as nice as palate. Pint at Alpine Brewing, Alpine. On tap at Apex. From notes.
A: Clear gold touched by orange. White head.
N: Pine, dirty earth, melon, pineapple. Onion powder. Similar to Keene Idea if earthier.
T: Bitter and more bitter. Not balanced to the point of astringency.
M: Resinous and medium bodied.
O: Not really a fan of this IPA. I’d much prefer one of their other beers. pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - JAN 4, 2014
On draught at Apex. Clear dark golden color. Aroma is passionfruit and sweet citrus. Taste is tropical fruit, nectarine, and sweet malt, with a hint of bitter funk. Finishes with a blast of bittersweet hops. douglas88 (9051) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 23, 2013
On tap at APEX, drank next to Keene Idea. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. Smooth citrus nose, bread. The Marris Otter provides some backbone, but very smooth hop dominated flavors, citrus, lemons, light grass, more oranges. Very smooth comes across as balanced but isn’t Awesome. tleaver33 (62) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 6, 2013
On draught at Toronado. Golden yellow with minimal head. Nose is floral, with citrus and resin notes thrown in. Taste is the same with a peppery finish. Overall a very good beer.
