3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the bottle it has a dark brown color. The aroma has some toasted malts and some spice, mild pumpkin. Taste has some nuttiness with some spice. There is some mild fruit on the finish which has a slight resin taste. Unique beer.
Bomber purchased at the brewery exactly two years ago today ($5.99). Pours black-ish with some ruby-garnet highlights and giant multi-finger creamy-pillowy dark tan head with excellent retention. AROMA of mild pumpkin, cocoa powder, dry spices (nutmeg stands out), grainy malts, and cardboard. FLAVOR of dark roasted malts, creamy dark chocolate, roasted nuts, cinnamon, coffee, and some subtle pumpkin. Nice smooth finish with some lingering spice. Improves as it warms and the pumpkin becomes a bit stronger. Still looking for a pumpkin beer that really has the pumpkin front and center...this is a good effort, though. Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Been in the fridge a long, long time. Pours very darkly ruddy with an orange tinged (swear that) tan head. Lots of pie spice. Cinnamon in the front, I think. Med body. Starts with spice, gets a strong chocolate hit, then goes on to mixed spice followed by dry dark baking chocolate. But pumpkin? I dunno bout that. Finishes dry, chocolate and spicy. Good ale. elihapa (1554) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - JUL 8, 2013
Draft, winter ’12: Pours dark with nice beige head. Flavor is spiced nutmeg, pumpkin paste, toasted bread, mocha. Good blend, a bit subdued. burg326 (5604) - Florida, USA - MAY 28, 2013
22 ounce bottle poured a dark brown color with aromas of light coffee, earth, some pumpkin and nutmeg. Flavors were light coffee and pumpkin. I liked the pumpkin flavor a lot did not taste artificial, smooth, and easy to drink. tmoreau (4631) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2013
Shared bomber poured to snifters, showing a cloudy, ashen, brown tone, with modest, light tan head foam, and spots & streaks of lacing. The aroma started with a little roastiness, then nutmeg, lesser cinnamon, and a dark fruit/prune that must have been the pumpkin essence to my nose. Moderately bitter, medium bodied, and softly carbonated, the flavor was a little vegetal, earthy, dry, and somewhat astringent. Appreciated the generosity, but not a fan.

Pours a cola brown color with a root beer colored head. In Alpine fashion, the head doesn’t stick around long. Nutty, woody, and coffee aromas. Mouthfeel is full and wet with a bit of a carbonation burn at the finish. Raw pumpkin, smoke, and some plastic flavors. Not my favorite. I’m 0-2 with pumpkin ales the Fall. mcberko (18949) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 17, 2013
22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon and some pumpkin, along with some cocoa and toasted malts. Flavour of sweet caramel malts, pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. Medium bodied with a wonderful mix of the spices and the porter qualities. Great stuff. jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 8, 2013

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small beige head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is some spotty lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate and citrus. There is some light pumpkin in the background. The finish more chocolate mixed with some light cinnamon and nutmeg. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel.
