Meh. I remember when every hoppy beer from Alpine was fire, but this was a 96/96 when I rated, so maybe it's just me. Pretty ho hum ipa. Average is even a stretch in today's market. Light pine, skunk and floral notes, Too malty for me, and didn't showcase the hops terribly well.

Where and how: traveling in USA, on tap @ brewery
Aroma lemongrass, soft, smooth feel. Somewhat pungent, skunky vibe. In this case this worked to its advantage adding extra dimension.
Appearance :
Top: medium lighter white top.
Base: fine haze on gold
Palate : medium bodied, average carbonation, finish, on softer side
Taste: Wide variety of hops, floral, citrusy with some pungent touches. Easy going finish. Not the friendliest IPA out there but it hooks you as you drink.

On tap at Apex, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright piney hops upfront, with a touch of citrus and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is quite assertive, with sharp piney and floral hops, and a dry biscuity malt base. Bone dry and nicely assertive. Very good.

PhillyCraft (8195) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 7, 2018
Sampled at Freshcraft, lightly hazy golden with small head. Notes of honey, bland hops, bland Malt, and other green flash notes. I miss the old Alpine days.

Nothing really stands out about this ipa but nothing is really bad either. Pretty good fairly bitter ipa.

Brilliant clear deep golden hue under a thick foamy white head. Big bright piney hop nose with a little earthy undertone and something that reminds me of latex gloves. Crisp cool flavor that’s bright and clean and suprisingly refrained with lots of clean and mellow leafy piney hop flavors and a cool pale malty crisp body.

On draught at Frontier Brewing Company and Taproom. A very slightly hazed straw gold, ample head of foam that leaves lacing behind. Smells of pine, almost needle like, somewhat dank, also smells resinous. Tastes either dry hopped, hop oils used, or both. My tongue sure feels like hop oily after every sip. Piney, dank to a point, bit of cracker malt in the background. Smooth mouthfeel, again my tongue seems to be coated with that hoppy goodness and the abv is very out of the way. Very nice collaboration.

Sledutah (7976) - Utah, USA - DEC 15, 2017
On tap at APEX
Pours clear golden with a medium sized white head, good lacing. Aroma is dank, grapefruit and zesty. Flavor of grapefruit, mild bready with nice hop bitterness
Very good
