On draft at alpine. Clear yellow pour. Malty and hippy with crisp finish. Very good and easy to drink. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - SEP 12, 2011
(Growler) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, herbs, tangerine, and grass. Flavor of florals, herbs, grass, earthiness, caramel, some citrus, and pine. hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 11, 2011
Growler...Clear golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aromatic highlights are grapefruit, star fruit and toffee. Light to medium-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is quite hoppy although the bitterness is relatively low. Also, toffee and butterscotch are offered up. Finishes crisp, floral and fruity. Growler courtesy of richiesd! Growler courtesy of richiesd. Pours copper with a lasting off white head. Smells of melon, sweet juicy citrus, some pine, nutty. Tastes earthy with some floral elements and a spicy bitter, grassy finish. bb (9789) - Alamo, California, USA - JUL 18, 2011
Draft. Golden beer with an off-white head. Grapefruit and summer fruit aroma. Grapefruit and light pine flavor with light earth. Medium bodied. Pine and earth lingers with malt and grapefruit.

On tap. Pours with a clear golden body with a large, foamy white head. Creamy, with good retention. Huge hop aroma! Citrusy, tangerine, grapefruit, orange, tropical fruits and mango. Dry, malt bill, lightly grainy. Flavors are again huge. Really hoppy (I get columbus)! Tropical fruit, pomelo, over ripe fruit, mango, esters, fruity, lightly grassy, grainy, dry. Lively bubbles. Awesome! StefanSD (2468) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - JUL 16, 2011
UPDATED: JUL 17, 2011 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a translucent copper color with a small white head that soon diminishes and shows some minor lacing. The aroma is modest with herbs and citrus. The flavor is quite robust with abundant citrus, mixed fruits and mangoes set in not too sweet caramel base. The palate is full and smooth. The finish is long, dry and biter. Overall: Awesome hoppy APA. Terminus (3716) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 12, 2011
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2011 Tap at the brewpub, cask and tap at Toranado San Diego-pours lite golden orange with a small white head. nose is dank hops, citris and tropical notes with some lite notes of grapes and melon. the flavors are mostly dank tropical hops but with little bitterness. This could be the best session beer i have ever had. Lite sweet hoppy finish with lingering notes of lemons, grapes, and lingering lite bitterness. For such a low ABV beer, this thing has the most flavor i have ever seen in a beer of its stature. Cask version was a bit more round with some sweet pale malt coming through more. However, both versions were great in their own respect. i would have to go with the tap due to its in-your-face hops. This is the best APA i have ever had!!!! RERATE-i still love this beer but i had their Hoppy Birthday and THAT is the best APA i have ever had!!!! This is still damn tasty and makes for a great session beer! nightrider (754) - encinitas, California, USA - JUL 10, 2011
Tasted this beer at the brewery and the color is copper golden with a bountiful white head. The aroma is once again outstanding with fresh grassy earthy hops. Medium to light mouthfeel. Flavors begin with nutty malt and prickly carbonation. Some solid bitter hops kick in next and linger on. The finish is balanced and somewhat dry. Tasty pale ale. nickd717 (4886) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 1, 2011
Thanks to largadeer for this tick. Growler pours clear golden with a one finger white head that fades to a thin film. The aroma is hoppy, believe it or not, with citrus and herbal notes, and a bready malt character behind it. The flavor is interesting, rather biscuity and bready, with an average hop bite. Earthy with orange and grapefruit. Medium-light bodied and crisp with good hop oils and very high drinkability. Not quite Alpine’s best, but enjoyable as always.
