Had it at Toronado SD. Nice golden color with a really big hop aroma for the style. Nice bitterness with just enough malt to keep it balanced. An excellent beer to have if you’re having more than 1 or 2. JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - JUN 15, 2012
At FWIBF, Hazy orange pour with a white head. Cirtus, yeast, and pine aroma. Sweet and malty with some minor bitterness on the taste and just flat out good. Another winner from Alpine. dreadnord (1012) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Pours transparent golden orange with a thick white head. Nose is grapefruit, pine, bread and light caramel. Taste is sweet but only momentarily before a big surge of bitter. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean, light body and long finish. Terminus (3710) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 12, 2011
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2011 Tap at the brewpub, cask and tap at Toranado San Diego-pours lite golden orange with a small white head. nose is dank hops, citris and tropical notes with some lite notes of grapes and melon. the flavors are mostly dank tropical hops but with little bitterness. This could be the best session beer i have ever had. Lite sweet hoppy finish with lingering notes of lemons, grapes, and lingering lite bitterness. For such a low ABV beer, this thing has the most flavor i have ever seen in a beer of its stature. Cask version was a bit more round with some sweet pale malt coming through more. However, both versions were great in their own respect. i would have to go with the tap due to its in-your-face hops. This is the best APA i have ever had!!!! RERATE-i still love this beer but i had their Hoppy Birthday and THAT is the best APA i have ever had!!!! This is still damn tasty and makes for a great session beer! UPDATED: JUL 17, 2011 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a translucent copper color with a small white head that soon diminishes and shows some minor lacing. The aroma is modest with herbs and citrus. The flavor is quite robust with abundant citrus, mixed fruits and mangoes set in not too sweet caramel base. The palate is full and smooth. The finish is long, dry and biter. Overall: Awesome hoppy APA.

On tap at the Santee Oggi’s pizzeria pouring clear gold with white head and some nice lacing. The aroma is a mix of citrus and spicy to near grassy bitter hops with a firm sweet maltiness riding alongside. The taste is chewy malt sweetened citrus as well as a load of spicy hops, a touch of roasted malts and plenty of malt sweetened hoppy goodness going on in the background. This is a solid brew with plenty of both hop flavor and hop bitterness and nicely supported by a modest sweet malt base. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUN 15, 2012
Light orange pour with a nice white head. Another great beer from Alpine. Lots of citrus, oranges, yeast, grassy notes. Flavor is spicy hops, mango, grassy notes...damn good! Travlr (25767) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 8, 2012
Growler courtesy of GT2, thank you sir! Clear bright golden color, large gluffy white head with great retention, delicate lacing. Aroma of fresh grass, scallions, licorice, wow! Taste is moderately bitter grass. Very nice. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 8, 2012
Growler from the brewery two days ago. Mega fresh. Pours a crystal clear golden. Thick, fluffy, yellowish head. Thick, webby lacing. Sheen and super rocky. Nose is fresh lemon, mango, butterscotch, white pepper, pithy durian, vanilla. Taste is tangy, spicy, thicker butterscotch, mango and cantaloupe. Palate is quenching, soft, a bit oily and dense. Alpine written all over it. This is solid. jmarsh123 (163) - Indiana, USA - OCT 2, 2013
Pours a light straw with a 1" very creamy white head.
Even front a pint glass the smell knocks you out with overloads of fresh citrusy hops.
The taste doesn’t quite match up to the smell. Good initial citrus flavor, but it could use more hops for a bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is very light as it is a low ABV beer. I could definitely see this as a good session beer. If it would be a touch hoppier, it’d be near perfect in that regard, but as is, still a good beer.
