On-tap at Churchill’s this past week. Pours orange yellow with a thick, frothy, white head. Decent lace. Smells citrusy with a grassy background. Tastes citrusy and hoppy, grapefruit, lemon, grass, a bit resiny. Medium body, not too thick for a big IPA. Carbonation is good but fades quickly. Pretty good IPA. gotbeach (139) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 18, 2008

Dude...where did you get those hops?
Wonderful aroma. Strong raw hop taste which continued long after the glass of goodness was gone.
Draft at O’briens. This IPA was decent flavors of hops and some sweet malts. The balance leaned towards the bitterness. Pretty good though. fordest (2470) - Santee/San Diego, California, USA - JAN 17, 2008
Draft at O’Brien’s. Awesome aromas coming off this golden copper ale. Apricot and citrus. Vanilla in there too. Flavors were more hops. Floral and green, and citrus fruit. Very Good. Ibrew2or3 (8660) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JAN 14, 2008
On tap @ San Diego Brewing brewpub. Pours a clear deep gold with lasting wisp of a white head. The aroma is big and in your face with copious amounts of fresh grapefruit hops and a decent backbone of malts and then a bit of spice hops. Excellent tasting IPA. Yum. It begins with a rush of grapefruit hops that are both bitter and sweet and they seem to be growing more and more bitter as the taste moves forward. A tasty level of malts is also there to play against the hop flavor and bitterness. Well balanced example of the classic West Coast IPA.

Tap at Stone. Orange gold with a fluffy head and great lacing. An amazing aroma of fresh grapefruit rinds with softer orange notes as well. A touch of caramel malt makes the aroma on this one incredibly fruity. Awesome bitterness with soft caramel malt backbone. Floral and grapefruit bitterness coats the mouth and lingers. The bitterness is not over the top however. This is a nice IPA. Naven (1000) - Poway, California, USA - JAN 11, 2008
On tap @ Stone World Bistro. Nice golden color. Smells like Grapefruit & orange peels. Flavor is an ass kicking of hops. This beer is all about the fresh floral, piney hops. Reminds me alot of Green Flash WC IPA. A true San Diego Beer. Alpine, as always, delivers. trokini (1025) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 7, 2008
Tap @ O"Brien’s. Pours clear gold with a short, off-white head. Crisp aroma of grapefruit, pine, pepper, and perfume. Creamy, yet light mouthfeel. Hops and resin up front, but not overwhelming. More of a pink grapefruit sweetness in terms of citrus mixed well with the biscuit maltiness. Bitter and clean finish. Loved it. papajohn (1250) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - JAN 2, 2008

pub: Bright, clear golden amber color with a very small (bar pour) off-white head. Aroma is lightly sweet with citrus and hop spicyness. Flavor starts light caramel followed by citrus turning into a moderate grapefruit bitterness and a tangy dry finish with a lingering grapefruit rind aftertaste. Medium body is sticky with lively carbonation. Good job Pat and Tom!
On draft at O’Briens - first pour from a newly tapped keg. Hazy amber color with a small beige head that leaves thick lace. Bracing hop aroma with hints of sweetness, grapefruit juice and pine primarily, with floral notes, along with a bit of caramel as it warms and opens. Toasty and biscuity malts are noticible, but this one is all about the resiny hops, pine and grapefruit rind, holly leaves, very bitter and astringent finish becomes more balanced as it warms as well. Definitely a hophead beer and example of West Coast style. Light to medium body and crispy carbonation.
