Served from a 22 oz bottle from OTM. The appearance is a deep black hue with a medium sized light tan head. The nose has a sour milk, vanilla thing going on with some butter cream. The flavors are all sour and infected beer. You get some hints of chocolate and sour cherry. Has a few flashes of good but I don’t think this is what they where going for. Very disappointing especially for the price.
Bottle at home. Got it from a trade several years ago and can’t even remember from whom. I had my doubts on this one as it has numerous bad ratings and a few very good so the bottles released seems to be either quite off or straight on. My bottle is obviously one of the better ones though pouring it reveals a black body with a quite foamy beige head. After the pour I expected a lot of sour off notes but instead I get a velvety chocolate aroma with vanilla and oaky notes. Lighter roasted notes. The flavor has a light sour touch but it’s probably just from the barrel and actually offers a great balance to the chocolate and vanilla notes. Ripe berries and a little roast. A whiff of oxidation but this bottle is probably 5 years old so no offense. Brilliant and no sign of any brett notes as many other ratings insist. Sample at the 2014 Infected Chimipalooza on 11/01/2014. Pours a hazy dark brown color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Bourbon, malt and vanilla in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of chocolate malt, oaky vanilla and bourbon. The finish is malty with a subtle bourbon aftertaste. Was hoping for a little more out of this one. Decent overall. Bottle - Dark roast coffee and a bit of booze. Jet black with a thin brown head. Sour, smoke, barrel notes and soy sauce. Finish has some mellow vanilla notes. 22oz bottle pours a watery, translucent mahogany brown with tons of off white head. Nose smells infected, smells like a dusty couch, orange peel, dried chocolate powder. Bomber. Dark brown in color with an off white head. Woody, dark fruits, vanilla and bourbon. This one had a sourness to it that seemed out of place.

The beer is dark brown, with a thin, beige cap that leaves a fair amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma is of bourbon, oak, roast, vanilla, toffee, caramel. The flavor is decent, dominated by bourbon and oak. Vanilla, toffee, and caramel flavors play a supporting role. This beer is pretty sweet, so a small snifter sized sample is just right. The feel is smooth and buttery, with appropriate carbonation. Overall, a tasty beer. I would have it again.

On tap at ABC, the server swore its not infected. Nice aroma of malt and coffee, pours dark black, kinda watery. Overall disappointing.

Pours a dark chocolate brown color with mahogany edges and one finger beige head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Streak of lacing left behind.
Sweet malty aroma with a well integrated barrel character. Hints of spicy bourbon, dry oak and vanilla counted by dark chocolate, caramel and toast. Some alcohol but not overly boozy.
Medium bodied with lots of malt and bourbon sweetness. Again, barrel well integrated with bourbon sweetness without being hot. Also some subtle dry, toasted oak and vanilla flavor countered by a slightly smokey malt character. Hints of chocolate, toffee and rye creating some nice balance but it’s a bit tame for my liking. On tap at Brouwer’s Big Wood. Pours a solid black with a tan ring of head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, bourbon. Flavour is largely of roasted malts, light espresso, bourbon, vanilla, with a hint of dark fruits. Full bodied, rich and roasty.. Real nice.
