This is probably my favorite west coast dipa by far. The oniony fresh smack in the mouth is so wonderful. HonusWagner (2208) - Florida, USA - APR 6, 2014
This is pretty much the same beer as Nelson, just more intense, stronger hop drive but also has a slightly noticeable malt presence whereas the regular Nelson doesn’t. Great stonefruit/citrus though. jethrodium (366) - Berkeley, California, USA - AUG 16, 2012
Had a couple of these on draft at the Toronado anniversary party. Pours a clear golden amber with a small white head that settles to a ring and leaves some light lacing on the glass. Aroma is quite dank with grapefruit, pineapple, mango and some floral notes present. Just a bit of rye on the nose and no alcohol. The initial taste has a bit of sweetness with pineapple, rye, and mango. There is also a bit of white grape and some dankness. The finish has a decent bitterness and is dry. No alcohol at all. Medium body. Medium carbonation. This was probably the best IPA that I’ve had. It was easily the best beer at the Toronado anniversary party. Hopefully, they start making it regularly. mcberko (18422) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 20, 2013
On tap at Apex, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of piney hops, some floral notes, and crispy biscuity malt - sublime on the nose. Flavour is just as awesome, with loads of divine piney hops, resinous hops, and super crisp biscuity malt. Wow, is this fantastic. The hops are so pungent, yet with no astringency. Amazing IIPA.

64 oz. growler poured into pint glass. Chill haze golden - orange pour. Very bright and vibrant with a 2 finger white head that leaves gorgeous lace. Aromas are through the roof! Wow! Floral, garlic, onion, musty grape, mango, papaya...it never ends! Taste is incredibly balanced and smooth. Zero trace of alcohol in this sweet nectar! I am a big fan of Nelson...and always leary when a brewer tries to make an already great beer "bigger"...but Alpine nails this one! Incredibly smooth...great balance...finishes nice and dry with a moderate bitterness. Outstanding beer! daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 16, 2012
Sparkling orange/gold color with a white head. Wow the aroma is a tropical fruit bomb! Tons of mango, some citrus, and a hint of malt in the back. Flavor is incredible! Loads of and loads of lychee, mango, bitter citrus hops, and a good malt dose to just balance this one amazingly well! Hopped_Silly (418) - California, USA - MAR 6, 2014
From growler. Thank you Bytemesis for sharing. Classic Nelson dank, pine, tropical fruit nuances, with balanced sweet malt undertone. Simply perfect. Similar flavors of dank, pine and tropical fruit, with a balanced malt backbone. Great balanced mouthfeel. Great balanced weight. Alcohol is very well hidden. Simply very well made and very well balanced. A absolute pleasure to drink. I had to contain myself from drinking the entire growler.

64oz growler, big thanks to hamilton23, enjoyed with dcschiller, pours with a clear deep gold body that has copper hues and supports a white head of foam. The aroma is just plain ol’ yum! I get thick malt sweetened tangelo and tangerine mixed with full up onion spicy dank hoppiness. Yes! The taste is rich and smooth and deep and refreshing but not soft or sweet but rather assertive. It delivers malt sweetened tangerine and clementine citrus hop flavor with a pleasing edge of hop bitterness. It then picks up firm levels of dank spicy onion goodness. Wow! Love it. 48FanInCali (851) - California, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Draft multiple times. Danky ass nose of cat piss and citrus. Even dankier taste with some rye notes. Hop forward as crazy with not much malt back bone. For what it is, it is phenomenal.
