3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From tap at Brewbaker. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light caramelish. Caramelish, sweet and toasted malty. Bitter, grassy and caramelish malty finish.
The wife and I stayed here overnight on 9th May 2017 and I obviously had all five of their beers that were on tap that evening: this being the fourth and for me the best of the five (I had another large glass before bed). Clean amber pour, beige topping. Again fairly sweet in nature with a caramel flavour and aroma: my sweet tooth was having a field day in this brewery tap. realadam (173) - HUNGARY - MAY 12, 2017
Sweet beee with a light bitter aftertaste. A bit watery, but good all in all quite good to drink. bartlebier (4123) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JAN 6, 2017
Draught at source, as Alt Jenaer Bernstein Bock. - Cristal clear caramels drink as Werther’s Echte overdiluted in pils, with a polished shine and shiny surface. "Amber bitters", little depth, better mouthfeel than their other pale beers. MoritzF (10095) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - JUN 29, 2016
(swing top bottle, as Jenaer Mai Bock, 5.8% abv) Slightly hazy, deep golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Mildly bready and slightly sugary malty aroma with notes of caramel and shades of herbal hoppy spice. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft, almost tame carbonation. Cara-malty base with residual sugars, delicately bready and subtle fruity notes, restrained hops character; sweet and delicately bitter finish; due to the tame carbonation also a tad sticky. 27.VI.16 pivnizub (10815) - Bochum, Porř, GERMANY - JUN 1, 2016
Buegelverschlußflaše (as "Maibock"): Deep golden to light amber coloured, hazy, stable and creamy off-white head with a little lace; relatively dry grainy-malty nose with traces of caramel, very delicate hoppy traces in the background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, nesrly medium bodied; slightly lingering bitter-caramelly finish. O.K., but not perfectly convincing…

Beautiful amber color, with compact creamy head. The aroma is malty, quite nice, with some cereal. Nice mouthfeel, grainy malt flavor, moderate sweetness, relatively low bitterness.
0.5 l bottle from Brauhaus, Jena... Clear orange color, average head... Nice alcoholy hop and honey aroma... Intensive sweet Bock beer flavor... Alcoholy ending... visionthing (5535) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 10, 2013
30cl on tap at Brewbaker, Berlin. Clear dark golden with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt and honey with notes of hops and fruits. Very sweet and caramelly, but still balanced. Finishes somewhat dry and lightly bitter. Fresh and quite easy to drink despite the sweetness. Certainly a decent brew. (2013-04-04)
