Medium brown with a small, persistent head. Malty, almost herbal aroma. Relatively mild but ’creamy’ taste. A little over roasted in the finish. Beautiful bottle.

Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 13, 2004
Appearance: a clear, caramelly brown color, a solid, well-retained head. Aroma: fruity and sweet. Neat little hop appearance, quickly settling into the smooth and mellow. Light body, long, tasty finish. Bright and lively flavor. I struggle some over the style, is it a bock, a dunkel? No, a marzen? Whatever it is, it’s light, smooth, and perfectly delicious.

Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - SEP 7, 2004
Jubel pours a dark amber (rather than brown) with a slight head and mild effervesence. The aroma is malty with a slight fruity afterthought. The taste is malty, full, and rich, giving a pleasant mouthfeel. Good stuff.

vanvenlo (1903) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - AUG 31, 2004
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2006 30 Aug 2004 - Freshly cracked malt grain, sweet fruit hop balance aroma. Fizzy dissapearing murky dark brown-orange. Full grainy lighly fruited sweet. Fizzy medium mouthfeel and hoppy finish.

3.2
Lunkie (1950) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - AUG 30, 2004
Grain aroma that has just been cracked with hints of sweet floral hops. Clear brown red colour with good head. Hop fruit malt flavour. Fizzy palate.

shadey (2142) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 29, 2004
Pour is red-brown with a slight bubbly head. Nothing special. The aroma is just great. Fruit and yeasty bread are enticing. Very drinkable, Very enjoyable. I am really starting to like this style... Dunkel Rocks!

3.3
Cashazza (217) - Morganville, Maryland, USA - JUL 23, 2004
Faintly fruity/bready aroma, clear reddish-brown appearance with little head, and flavor of roasted malts and fruit -- very thin. The bottle kicks ass!

3.2
Ungstrup (38145) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2004
A clear brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and so is the flavor, but the body is somewhat thin.

3.3
Mads Langtved (2243) - Copenhagen K, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2004
Dark red. Malty and bready. A nice roasted dunkel in a nice bottle as well.

3.3
Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - JUL 21, 2004
Reddish brown coloured. Malty aroma. Smooth malty flavour with roasty and sweet notes.
