Cloudy gold with a good head. A flat hessian bag taste that runs and runs. Very natural and subtle. Good beer. Lunkie (1966) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - FEB 28, 2008
Sweet malt hop aroma with flowers. Clear yellow colour with fair head and lacing. Sweet bitter malt hop flavour. Fizzy palate. LordCorkscrew (1774) - Ronco Scrivia (GE), ITALY - DEC 13, 2007
I drank this by the boatload for years as a way of getting swing top bottles. I couldn’t stand Grolsch so this was my steady. I think it is a pretty standard German lager, which can be a good thing on a hot summer day. Stew41 (2118) - Phuket, THAILAND - APR 8, 2007
Fairly uninspiring beer from my angle. Mega lager deep golden amber with a very small head. More pale lager than pilsner on the nose with stale malt notes and a hint of spice. Assessed blind the nose would have fooled my into thinking this was a CUB offering. Bland palate, some ok bitterness at the back but I can’t get my heap around the stale / soapy notes that don’t offer the drinker much appeal.

Nice and dense pilsner. Quite low on bitterness, but high on taste and fullness. Smooth carbonation, fills up your mouth with every sip. Maybe a bit too full for sessions, but goes nicely on small proportions. Quinten (1061) - zaandam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 8, 2006
Deep golden color, medium head, full grainy nice bitter, some: bread, roasty, fruty parts and some grass hints.
very nice traditional one. omhper (25956) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUL 18, 2006
[Bottled] Bright golden, airy head. Papery malt aroma. Sweetish with rounded mouthfeel. Evidently malty, and it’s quality malt. Grassy finsih with medium bitterness. ALLOVATE (3089) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 10, 2005
An easy drinking, malt driven Lager this turned out to be. Tasted from the Swing-stopper and poured into a stein glass. A thin soapy white head formed, which later became dense and creamy, atop a slightly glazed looking orangey gold body. Gritty, grainy, breakfast cereal nose with hints of honey and marmalade. Quite alluring. Light bodied in the mouth and soft and prickly in carbonation. Subtle in flavour, the palate was balanced between tangy, gooey citric fruits, and palest grainy malts with a clean and spicy back-end. Finish had some fruity sweetness and a similar lingering tang like the palate, but it generally remained crisp. Lacked hop definition, yet it seemed to work in its favour. Easy drinking summer thirst quencher!!! (50cL, 12/12/05) TBone (18561) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 15, 2005
Bottled 0,5 ltr flip-top (BB 10/2005)
I’m not sure if this is the one as bottle just said "Altenmünster" but as ABV 4.9% and ratings match so I’ll rate this here.
Hazy yellow, good big foamy head, lace. Fruity, lemony hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, malty, balanced lager with fruity hoppy finish. Just too much sweet bread here to be enjoyable.
