UPDATED: JUN 26, 2011 Part of the Nurnberg Beer Raid 2011. On tap at the brewpub in Nurnberg, Germany. A great unfillterd Helles, in my mine one of the top two. Nice cloudy yellow if you get it in a glass. Normally hidden in a stone beermug. A great Helles beer for sure. Try it first than move on the the other beers. One of the better Helles that you can find anywhere. But most people dont understand what a Helles is. Indutiomarus (113) - Idar-Oberstein, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - DEC 31, 2009
Nice Helles, very well made one of the best for sure. A fine example of a great Bavarian Helles. One of my favs. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - AUG 16, 2004
i wasn´t too sure whether to rate this as altstadhof vollbier but it looked as though it was called helles on all the menus and stuff. and it is one of the better helleseses around, plenty of vanilla in the aroma and even a hefeweizen-like whiff of banana. very drinkable with light each and a lingering, full, butterscotch sweetness MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 31, 2011
My Bottom Line :
Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - JAN 20, 2006
Sweetish bready malts and herbal hops play around an engaging fluffy mouthfeel for a pleasant session lager.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A clinging veil of foam can be seen even when the beer reaches the bottom of the krug.
-Apart from the fact this was served in a ceramic krug, this tasted and felt like a Kellerbier all the way. Good job!
-The malt profile is not as sophisticated or clearly defined as some of the best Helles I’ve had, but its rusticity is endearing.
-Herbal hops produce lenient bitterness.
-I felt like having a second pint of this Helles, which is exactly the point, right?.
On tap at the brewpub.
Draught at the brewpub. Dark slightly hazy golden coloured. Sweet and malty with notes of exotic fruits. Very soft mouthfeel. Really pleasant and the only one of Altstadthofs beers that was not bad. But, I can see from Oliviers rating that it was infected when he visited. downender (8659) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 19, 2007
Draught at the brewpub November 2006. Hazy beer with hints of fruit in the aroma. some sweetness in flavour with brambly hops in the finish. Very pleasant.
(Rating #3851) Lowenbrau (4276) - Asturias, SPAIN - JAN 10, 2017

A nice lager with a subtle bitter and dry aftertaste. Pours hazy deep gold with frothy white head. Moderate head retention, poor lacing. Malty, biscuit, caramel nose. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture.
Pale orange and cloudy. Nicely malty and flavourful. Creamy with balanced late bitterness. Like an unfiltered helles.
