Roublard (218) - Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 15, 2013
Tapped in Altstadthof, Nürnberg brewery. Dark red body, small whitysh head, medium body full of malts, some apple notes, bitter finish. Very nice.

Vom Faß im Altstadthof, Nürnberg. - Schönes Kupferrot. Antrunk leicht malzig (Röstmalz), voll milder unfiltrierter Kellerbieraromen. Anklänge von Waldbeeren (Brombeere). Milder Hopfen; dezenter bitterer Nachtrunk. - Mild, weich und süffig. Könnte eine deutliche Portion mehr Hopfen vertragen. Auch in Literflaschen zum Mitnehmen erhältlich, leider stark überteuert.

On tap. Reddish dark orange body, beige head. Aroma of cherry, peach, floral hops and caramel. Taste is like the aroma. Lots of cherry and caramel with some peach, caramel and toast. Malty but the finish is slightly bitter. Medium body, very easy to drink. Really nice beer.

Tap @ brewpub 01/02/13. Pours a roséish dark red with a thick, beige head. Aroma is fruity, bready, dark malty. Taste is caramel, fruity, light apple, light yeast. Palate is light. Definitely meant to be had with food.

rauchbierlover (676) - Berlin, Berlin, GERMANY - NOV 1, 2012
Dark red body with a small white head. Aroma of cherries. Very strange, sweety taste. Taste is like diacetyl, reminds somehow of a brown ale.

blipp (9902) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Draft. Pours deep amber with a beige head. Sweet malts, lighter fruity notes, and a hint of floral hops. Not bad.

ganache (6089) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 20, 2012
Tap in Nürnberg, dark red body, chestnutty with a lacing tan head. Malty sweet taste with lots of toffee, here are some nice juniper/heather notes to my taste, light hoppiness. My favorite of those available on my visit, though the ’Schwarz’ was probably its only competition.

kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 8, 2012
On Tap @ the brewpub. The head is medium, the body red. It tastes malty, hoppy, amber, flowery. In the aftertaste a bit bitter. Ok 10/12/13/11/-/12

Marko (6285) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - APR 4, 2012
Draught at the brewpub. This poured a lovely, superb misty amber-red body, with an off white-tan head. The nose is immediately a small letdown though. Soft & malty, with very light notes of hard candy. The taste is unfortunately as I expected it after that... empty. Somewhat sweet, soft. with very light soapy/herbal notes. Ordinary.

2.9
Braudog (6900) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - DEC 10, 2011
Draft at the brewpub. This comes across as just a bit thin. There’s a hint of caramel and toffee, but generally this is not as characterful as the other two we tried. Certainly easy to drink, but I choose the others. (#4381, 11/30/2011)
