Draft at the brewpub. This comes across as just a bit thin. There’s a hint of caramel and toffee, but generally this is not as characterful as the other two we tried. Certainly easy to drink, but I choose the others. (#4381, 11/30/2011) jfb (6256) - GERMANY - APR 1, 2011
(draught) pours a hazy ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of brown sugar and herbal hops, with some prominent notes of lychee, perfume and lemon peel. flavour is toasted malts, toffee, light grain and smoke, with some light fruity esters and cinnamon. medium-bodied with lively carbonation. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - OCT 27, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Beer in the glass brownish, nice head. Roasty-malty aroma. Starts mild malty, modest roasty, some smokey notes. Also light nutty. Finish well balanced, soft-malty, quite drinkabkle. Not bad! ganache (5898) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 20, 2012
Tap in Nürnberg, dark red body, chestnutty with a lacing tan head. Malty sweet taste with lots of toffee, here are some nice juniper/heather notes to my taste, light hoppiness. My favorite of those available on my visit, though the ’Schwarz’ was probably its only competition. Marko (5711) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - APR 4, 2012
Draught at the brewpub. This poured a lovely, superb misty amber-red body, with an off white-tan head. The nose is immediately a small letdown though. Soft & malty, with very light notes of hard candy. The taste is unfortunately as I expected it after that... empty. Somewhat sweet, soft. with very light soapy/herbal notes. Ordinary.

Draft @ brewpub. Hazy red with very thick cream-colored head. Fruity aroma is mostly apples. Is inviting enough. Same oily palate as the other two house beers. Very bland and easy, watery. Fruity malt, a decent apple and earthy flavor. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 24, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Sweet caramel aroma followed by sweet molasses and hints of chocolate. On the sweet side, but drinkable. Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - JAN 20, 2006
Draught at the brewpub. Amber coloured. Aroma of toffee. Sweet and buttery flavour. Unpleasant. Seems a bit infected. MrTipple (4966) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2016
Aroma: grain, bread and caramel malts. Appearance: clear amber, medium, creamy, white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: malty sweets continue, lots of grain, cereals, caramel. Overall: OK Amber, quaffable and sweet throughout. Pint at the brewery, Nürnberg. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 2, 2007
1L bottle with ceramic cork. Hand carried to Calgary. Very big fluffy off-white head on slightly cloudy red-orange beer. Intriguing aroma, not beer-like but...reminds me of kitchen smells. Creamy body and neutral start turn to sour vinegar. Something wrong with this beer. Hard to believe anyone would be happy with this on tap.
