Sweet, raisin taste mixed with a little roasted. Nice foam structure. Hops not so present in the main taste. Very good I recomende it for all people who visit nuremberg! thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 24, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Dark mahogny with a big, beige, creamy head. A bit more roast in the nose, still quite on the sweet side. Not bad.

My Bottom Line : prawlie (1652) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 26, 2011
This Schwarzbier seduces with its tight and muscular flavor layout comprising raisins, roasted cereals and chocolate-tinged caramel, all in a lush body.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam tops the blackened brown, leaving no lacing at all.
-This is a tad sweeter than your average Schwarzbier, but all the flavors are cohesive and nicely expressed.
-The finish is a bit too quiet for my tastes in the style. I would have preferred lengthier malts or hop bitterness.
-The malt profile is complex and quite flavorful.
-Hops seem accessory, but the wooden, herbal connotations add depth to the compelling malt profile.
On tap at the brewpub.
500 mL from a pot tankard at the Altstadthof hausbrauerai in Nurnberg. Foamy brown head, faint roasty aroma. Tastes like a mild, nice.

Süffig-hefiger und leicht herber Antrunk, noch etwas hefiger werdend. Nun konstant, spritzig-süffig. Zum Ende erneut würziger, sehr harmonisch, erst hier bananig. Gelungen! 12/10/11/10//11

Color brown with big brownish head. Aroma coffee, roasted malt, smoke. Taste roasted, smoked, caramel, weak bitter finish.
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2010 (draught) pours the darkest ruby colour with a frothy dark beige head. aroma of herbal hops and brown sugar, toasted malts, slightly musty but in a good way. flavour is the same, with lots of toasted grain, very smooth, with a slightly alcoholic roasted-bitter finish. medium-bodied with smooth carbonation.
