Part of the Nurnberg Beer Raid 2011. On tap at the the brewpub Nurnberg, Germany. Pours a hazy yellow color with a thick, rocky, foamy, long lasting white head. Aroma is clove and bananas, with lots spice, somewhat dry, creamy and pine. Taste is the much same, but but even creamier. Palate is alive and very nice. This is a different Weisse. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - AUG 16, 2004
on tap in nuremberg. this was my first decent wheat beer in a long time, massive banana skin aroma, luscious, grainy, fresh, hints of peach and mango and a little clove. simple but very effective jonas (7586) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAR 17, 2005

Banana and vanilla notes predominant.
Cloudy yelow, very stable head.
Light to medium body, creamy mouthfeel.
Very well done weisse.
Draught at the brewpub... great, I figured it would be on the site, so I just had it down as "Hefe", but neither that nor "Sommerweisse" was its name. And there’s no mention of it online. Just great. Anyway, this poured a lovely misty apricot-orange body with a thick, slightly off white head. The nose is immediately promising, very pungent yet soft - cloves, light banana, very light lemony sourness. It’s sweet and very, very nice. And the taste... finally doesn’t disappoint - a nice sweetish clove assault ending with on a banana note before falling into dryness. Holy shit, surprisingly good and an even better surprise. this is... whoa. Thumbs up. Three even if needed. TaktikMTL (7798) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 3, 2011

The only Hefeweizen I had during my Bavarian trip. Hazy golden body with a tall white head.Just the usual Weissbier with its banana aroma and citrus taste. But way better than other beer I had of this style Ernest (7697) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 23, 2004
Draught. Head is white, fully lasting. Body is hazy dark yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain/bread), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of clove, banana, coriander, and orange. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Odd one, this...almost like a cross between German weiss and Belgian wit...seems spiced, but I didn’t ask. Had in November 2003 at the brewpub. ChristianSA (368) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 24, 2005
Tap @ brewpub. Estery aroma - like getting kicked on the nose by a boot made of overripe bananas. Slightly acidic with a creamy white head. Has a lot more character than most other German hefeweizens. Lovely! jfb (6270) - GERMANY - DEC 30, 2008
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2011 (draught, at the brewpub) pours a hazy yellow colour with a tall, lasting white head. aroma is mostly clove and banana, with notes of sharp hop spice, dry wheat, light yoghurt and spruce needles. flavour is the same, but more smooth and less subtle. medium body with lively carbonation. rauchbier (3891) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2004
Tap, at the brewpub. Hazy lemon yellow, good lasting white head and moderate condition. Initial caramel aroma giving way to banana esters and yeast. Caramel maltiness returns in the mouth with some gentle fruity banana notes. Finish is chalky and yeastily sweet.
