(Bottle shared by Dave at Black Friday). Pours dark mahogany. Aroma is dark fruits, candied sugar, and caramel. Taste is sweet with some belgian yeast notes. Medium bodied with a sticky texture. Decent stuff. Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - NOV 23, 2011
Very very big and long lasting head!
Deep dark brown colored beer.
Smell barleys, hops, flowers, toasted malts, sweets like nuts, caramel, light chocolate, prunes and a hint of vanilla.
Taste is good bitter, spicy, toasted barley, praline, hint of alcohol (not that traceable), caramel, some sweets, herbs, leaves, toasted malts and nice bitter. A slight hint of something light sour and yeasty, darker ingredients, slight hint of chocolate and some prunes.
Herby bitter toasted barley aftertaste.
Medium to fuller carbo, tingly mouthfeel, medium to full body and a texture between creamy and watery. 77ships (11041) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 20, 2011

: huge gusher, like someone poured dishwashing liquid in it & than shook it around, the head just kept on creeping out of the bottle for min. 5 minutes, not the first time I am seeing this happen with an Alvinne bottle – the Morpheus yeast, perhaps?, otherwise, dark brown with a, HUGE beige head, smells like overripe dark brown fruit, dark malts & caramel, first you get the more Strong Belgian Dark Ale flavours & more into the aftertaste you get more Barely wine flavours, overripe dark fruits first, slightly spicy, bit herbal, afterwards, dark brown sugar, caramel, slight molasses, dark malts, very slightly roasted, slight chocolate bitterness, warming but wouldn’t call it boozy, especially given the strength, slightly thick, malt body
Think I’ve tasted this at Alvinne CBF 2011. Dark brown color, white head. Nice roasted smell, very nice taste and mouthfeel. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 14, 2011
(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) cloudy medium brown with tan head. Nose of wax, crayon, Belgian yeast, fruity, raisins and cream. Taste is an alcohol bomb, raisin, orange, umami, and spicy. Medium thick body with a nice fruity linger.

Sampled @ ACBF 2011. Color dark dark brown with big head. Aroma roasted, sugar, chocolate. Taste dark fruit, sweet, roasted. suprchunk (2994) - EffOff, Florida, USA - JUN 22, 2011
After settling down, it poured a brown hue. Lost some due to foaming, well a lot. Big foamy head. Big lacing. Smelled somewhat of infection, sour. A bit roasty and malty. Sour taste. Rusty. Sweet. Chalky. Silky mouth feel. Chalky and burnt. Sour after taste. Decent beer. Not a barleywine. More like an infected stout. Dixonian (1657) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAY 9, 2011
750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye.
Dark brown brew with tan head. Dark fruit, brown sugar, and toffee aromas - flavors of dark fruit, roasted malt, and chocolate. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - MAY 1, 2011
Thanks to bul11zeye for sharing this 750 ml bottle.
The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the toffee and grassy hops, as well as some dark fruit, brown sugar and chocolate.
The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of dark fruit and raisin notes, as well as some toffee and chocolate. The alcohol is noticeable, but not as hot as it could be since the beer is nearly 15 percent ABV.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice. shrubber85 (11618) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - APR 24, 2011
Bottle at First German Ratebeer gathering at Idar Oberstein courtesy of Travlr. Tried to be prepared for a gusher and had a 500 ml glass ready but needed two more glasses to get the foam (and still spilled a ton of it). Smokey chocolate malt and herbal hops aroma. Opaque brown color with the most aggressive head in the world. Prune/brown sugar malt and bitter herbal hops flavor. Hides the alcohol level well. Excellent.
