@ Borefts Beer Festival.
Aroma is dry and dusty. Taste is bread, too much wood an a tad caramel. The beer is not so well balanced. Palate is dry. Not my favorite Alvinne...
I like the Ximenez version much more. fonefan (50556) - VestJylland, DENMARK - SEP 28, 2017

Draught @ 8th. BBF 2016 [ 8th Borefts Beer Festival 2016 ] @ Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands.
[ As Alvinne Cuvée D’Erpigny Sauternes BA ].
Light unclear medium yellow orange colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, caramel, wine, dried fruit, grapes, grapes - wine. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration, tart, grapes, wine, dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
Sour fruity/yeast, also something spicy, a little alcohol/vinous. Very interesting, but not spectacularly good. fkoolen (1320) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 23, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2017 Taster @ Borefts bierfestival, Bodegraven. Cloudy amber, beige creamy head. Funky, dessert wine sweet grapes, vanilla, acidic, alcohol is well hidden; complex, but a tat off balance. Good body, low carbonation. jerohen (2342) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - SEP 23, 2017
At BBF17, Bodegraven. Deep golden colored, average head. Aroma and flavor are nearly pure Sauternes, quite fruity, alcohol not overly present, mouthfeel not very thick. Nice, although i would have liked some more of the base beer in flavor.

Tap at Borefts 2017 day 1. Hazy light brown with beige head. Caramel, figs, red wine, vanilla, bitter herbs, oak, alcohol. Ove rmedium sweet and bitter. Full bodied with some alcohol. It's OK but it's a bit too strong for me. kraddel (8718) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - SEP 23, 2017
Pours dark amber small white head . Smell is full, sweet, complex. Taste is full, dry, oak, tannines, mild wine character. Ok Alengrin (5629) - BELGIUM - SEP 22, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 28, 2017 Alvinne's renowned Cuvée d'Erpigny barley wine, this time aged on sweet Sauternes wine barrels; at Hedonis Ambachtsfest, thanks kraddel for sharing. Lightly lacing, thinnish, off-white head, almost clear amber-hued warm and deep orange blonde colour. Perfumed, strong bouquet of marmelade, orange zest, sweet white dessert wine indeed, biscuit, vanilla-ish oak, fermenting apple, cognac, ginger, mandarin liqueur, wet wood. Sweet onset, marmelade, candied pineapple and fresh orange flavours, soft carbo, oily, bit viscous yet smooth, vinous mouthfeel, rounded caramelly malt body with bready edges, increasingly soaked in an aromatic vanilla-like oak woodiness, softly drying tannins, a 'deep' earthy hop bitter accent and, eventually, a sweet white wine-like but also brandy-ish alcohol effect, yet nowhere wry or obnoxious. Another beautiful barley wine in this series, rich, vinous, elegantly sweet and boozy. sjogro (4635) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 22, 2017
