Bottle. Lovely smoked port like flavour.Tastes like a classic wine rather than a beer. Smokey and malty-needs to be supped rather than drank. Superb.

0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours a, well I guess you can call it unclear but not directly cloudy looking near bronze colored dark body with a bubbly and sidesticking mild beige top. It has, to my surprise, a relative low nose. I have to struggle to get anything else than a sweet toffee pudding nose here. Some darker types of fruit also detected. Sweet kiwi. It doesnt smell like a 14 percenter, but it smells nice. Mild but nice. Tastes quite decent also. Rounder than I thought. Lots of raisins, its sweet and sticky both in the taste and in the mouth. Soft and prickling on the carbonation. Red caramel and its scary lightdrinkable. Sweet but no alcohol either warming or sting. Melon in the finish. Quite nice. 04.08.2016

500ml bottle. Hazy, brownish colour. Nice, medium white head. Hints of red wine, earthiness, hints of berries, hints of oak, hints of caramel and dark fruits in the aroma. Hints of caramel, liqeury notes, hints of berry wine, bitter, woody notes in the middle. Some sweetness. Caramel and dark fruits. Toffee and and notes of wine in the end. Hints of red wine in the aftertaste. Quite interesting, quite well balanced, nice belgium strong ale. Enjoyable.

Bottle @ home bought at DeKoninck Vichte. Its strong but there is more to taste than that - a bit sherry-ish aftertaste. Dark red/brown but not defined by its colour. Could be described as a quad but I think its softer than that. Really enjoyed it.

On tap at The Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Woody aroma. Bit smoother than the other version on. Heat without being too boozy. Woody some deep malts some biscuit toffee some dark fruits. For once i quite like a barrel aged beer. Ok.

Red wine, forest fruits, wood, molasses in aroma. Pours dark amber with beige head. Taste is medium sweet with caramel, cherries, raisins, plums, black currant and wood. Medium body, soft carbonation, alcohol only warms a throat. Overall good sipper.
