Bottle thanks to Taylor at MFF. Aroma was prunes, port, chocolate and oak. Poured deep purple brown with little carbonation or head. Taste was ruby port, prunes, molasses and vinegary oak. Very dark for all the vinegar notes. This is a dependable kind of beer to come from Alvinne. Gotta be in the mood. GRM (4045) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 5, 2014

Clear amber colour. Aroma of sherry, toffee. Oily texture. Taste has some sherry notes too, prunes, dates, some candy. Interesting but I prefer Land van Mortagne

Tap at Bruges Atelier. Aroma is booze, rich and fruity. Warming. Big and a little scary. Think this was the beer that pushed me over the edge judging by my notes.

0.5 bottle. Hazy, dark brown color and a small, eggnog-colored head. Aroma is very vinous, sweet and sour, apples, pears, and other fermented fruits. Taste is sweet, malty, some sour notes, wood, mostly fruity rather than vinous, definitely spicy; the robust alcohol content can only be felt as a warming sensation rather than a gruesome flavor. Full body, creamy texture, and almost flat carbonation. Finish is very fruity, again apples and pears, perhaps a tad too sour. Overall a very fine beer; its fruitiness is unusual for the style but the general effect is splendid. CraftBeerNick (2544) - London Town, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2015
Keg at Nuetnigenough, 16th September 15. Poured a little dark and murky. Aroma is complex and deep. Taste is full, booze and barrel, oak, vinous and interesting some spice, almost a slight curry power, from the yeast, very nice, different and interesting hirigalzkar (3155) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 16, 2015
Bottle. Notes of milk chocolate, clove, raisin and orange. Nice mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Sweet and alcoholic. Elegant altough a bit too vinous. Reminds me of a barley wine. tom10101 (6081) - Quebec, CANADA - DEC 28, 2015
Bottle (500 ml). Split 3-ways. Slightly hazy mahogany with a small ring of bubbly tan foam. Aroma is of dried fruits, brown sugar, booze, molasses, winey notes, brettanomyces, chocolate and dates. Taste is moderately sweet with dried fruits (figs, raisins dates), wine brown sugar, bread, molasses, leathery notes, chocolate and alcohol. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Liquorous mouthfeel. Gentle warmth. Very tasty stuff. Alcohol is rather well integrated, apparent but not off putting.
