[ Lot. 632 ]. Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, sour, caramel, sweet malt, oak, wood, berry. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, tart, sour, oak, wood, berry, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20170929]

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are red wine, fruits, lactose acid, malt and has a nice sour finish.

Hazy copper and light brown coloured body with almost no head at all, perhaps a feather of a thin white head. Aroma of sour funk, dry grass and yeast along with a touch of bread and some small amount of floral notes and a touch of medicinal and a metallic twang near the end. Light-bodied; Strong sour flavour at first with a good dose of flowers and funk noticeable and a little perfumey dry kick showing some light malt as well. Aftertaste shows mostly a sour funky flavour with a touch of light fruits like berries with a grassy and hay-like dry quality and finishing with some lightly sweet flavours and a dose of bread and yeast at the very end, but not much carbonation, which works well in this case. Overall, a very nice and well structured beer with a great sour profile without leading too much and a mellow complexity, complete with a deep dry character near the end. Nice to sample outside of Belgium, especially for the price! I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle purchased a few hours ago at SuperMarket Liqours in Fort Collins, Colorado on 05-June-2017 for US$4,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Cheyenne, Wyoming on 05-June-2017.

Originally sampled on 9/1/0/14. "Not sure which batch this came from, just says its a "flemish sour ale aged for one year in oak barrels".Poured a brown body with minimal head and almost no lace. Aroma had a tart cherry presence, sour funk as well as some oakiness. Medium-bodied, smooth thanks to oak, slight sweetness on back end as well as some woodiness, dominant profile is tartness of the cherries and green apples. A decent sour bite, with enough malt to balance it out. I like this beer as the sour/tartness is the dominant taste profile.A gift from Brandon at D & Q mini mart in Houston Tx, Thanks Brandon!!

33CL bottle consumed today. usa distro Dark red maroon color, thin appearance, almost no head. Smells like balsamic vinegar and lemon juice with grapes and prune juice. Well, this is incredibly sour…like lemon juice put into a raisin and prune and blended with oak chips. This is very sour. intense. lemon juice, prunes, kiwi sour, peaches. oak wine tannins, really interesting but insanely sour.

0.33l bottle. This one pours a cloudy deep plum red body with a small quickly sidesticking off-white head. A bit different on the nose. Nuts, fish stock, a little oak, licorice, res dark berries and something dark slightly toasted. The carbonation level is average+ and the mouthfeel is light oily and almost sticky in a sour way? Like these flavors. You can say what you want but this reminds me a lot of the first batch really. Perhaps a bit milder and more mellow. Wood, sour berries and something light spicy. Warming slightly vinegar like aftertaste that’s leaving a mild heartburn. Yeah, I like the Freddy’s. 22.06.2012

Tap at Max’s 4/27/14. Burgundy brown body. Wow. Unique sour. Oily. Deep sticky sour cherry oak tones. Cloyingly sticky, sour, sweet. Balsamic vinegar notes all over it. Sort of imperfect, really an odd creature. Different oily sourness. Balsamic overload. A sample size was more than enough.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2014 Pours Black. Pure black light will not pass through this beer. Smells slightly smoky, cherry. Taste of bitter lemon. Bitter grape. Bone dry finish. Not for a weak palate. One of the bitterest beers I've ever had. Really good beer!
