330 mL bottle from Grape & Gourmet. Dark brown pour with a frothy beige head. The aroma really showcases the oak and red wine with only a hint of sourness. By the time I have typed this far the head has quickly disappeared. Surprisingly tart taste with an undercurrent of chocolate that helps to cut the sour bite. The marriage of red wine, oak, cocoa, raspberry, just a touch of coffee, and the slight warmth from the alcohol all blend together beautifully. An exceptional sour ale. jayzz (480) - Illinois, USA - JAN 24, 2014
Has a plum wine aroma where you can actually smell the sour, and a sweet long finish that reminds me of my favorite wine. Excellent, and easy on the palate. Has a fizzy head, and a dark red brown color. omhper (25953) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 26, 2010
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2010 Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm (as Cuvée Freddy Bourgogne OA, 8%). Cloudy dark brown, minimal airy head. Vinous, buttery Rodenbach-like lactic nose. Tart and vinous with light spritzy mouthfeel and above medium body. Lactic and cherryish, dominated by welloaked red wine. Fresheningly sour, deepand comples with lots of tannine bitterness. Only slight roastiness remains from the Mano Negra. Feels like a deluxe Rodenbach Grand Cru with more concentrated flavours and a delicious addition of dry oaky red wine. Despite the rich flavuors it stays elegant. I really, really enjoyed this one!
