Cloudy amber-golden colored with a huge white foam head. Bizarre medicinal aroma of ointment and yeasty bandages. Flavor is all over the place with hop bitterness dominating, and a lot of that medicinal ointment taste again. Not well-balanced at all. A nice mouthfeel and a warming alcohol feeling are its high points. Half of this is getting poured out.... I dont like Neosporin in my beer.

Bottle cellared in 2008. I was seduced by it being a strong Belgian ale (8% abv). But its hoppiness might not be as good as it might have been had I drunk it fresh. So this may not be as the brewer intended it to taste when he put it in the bottle. The beer pours out a bright yellow at the start, but once its in the glass, it turns a dark orange. Theres a lot of stuff floating around in it, whether thats bits of hop leaf, spices or yeast sediment, Im not sure from sight. The smell is malty and alcoholic with definite honey, somehow, maybe cinnamon as well. The taste shows more of that honey and light spice. The hops do come in with the aftertaste of the first sip. A citrussy American hop, but with the bitterness entirely aged out. The last pour is murky, and only with the last sip did I get any taste of dead yeast. Overall the beer is malty with noticeable alcohol, turning just a bit phenolic, but it hung in there over six years. A well-recommended beer for a winter warmer of after dinner.

330ml bottle BB Sep 17. Clear amber with large foamy lasting white head. Big spicy and funky belgian yeast aromas, stone fruits, resiny and grassy hops, bread. Taste is funky & spicy yeast, grassy, herbal and vegetal hop character, light tang, bready malt, light honey. Full bodied. Not bad at all, but a little coarse and unrefined.

330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB SEP 2017 Pours a hazy gold body, big dense white head forms atop. Hops dominate the nose - floral, grassy, citrus leaf, touch of wood spice, with rich pale caramel, toast, stonefruit esters & white pepper. Palate is drying, boozy upfront, bitterness is all-encompassing. Body reveals stacks of grass, stonefruit, spice & bitterness. Nothing particularly well defined, all amalgamated into some sort of intense bitter warming brew. Intent is there, seems to lack finesse.

Bottle at Bobs Brewery. Clear yellow with a large white head. Bretty nose with barnyard and leather, some must, mild citrus, crisp fruit. The flavour is dominated by brett; barnyard and band aid. Some wood, green plants, flowers, peach, sweet tropical fruits. Medium body, lively carbonation, mild sweetness, dry finish. Long fruity and bretty finish. Shapeshifting.

Bottle at home. Takes a while to pour because of the huge foam. Aroma is pale malt, funky yeast, brett, fruits, fruit peel, citrus, hoppy notes. Flavour is light to moderate sweet, slightly tart and medium bitter. Body is medium with pretty lively carbonation. Curious beer, hoppy and bretty, I quite like this.

Not quite sure what Alvinne was brewing here. Aroma was weak and was not indicative of the beer, the taste of the hops and the beer did not meld.

Bottle at home (bb Feb 17). Pours clouded yellow with a large white head. Lots of yeast deposit at the end. Light tart aroma, barnyard, funk, lemon, malts, yeast. Taste is light tart, moderate bitter, lemon, yeast, malts, dry finish, moderate bitter aftertaste. Not really an ipa, but not bad.

incredibly hazy golden colour, moderate sized white head; aroma of orange zest, apricot, boiled celery, overripe tropical fruits, and toffee notes; taste is the same; strange...anyway, I really like it
