Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Consumed at home. Pours a dark purplish red with a big khaki/pink head. Lots of visible sediment. It smells of red wine, chocolate and vinegar with pain pronounced woody notes. Sourness at first in the sip followed by a naked sweetness, with a long acidic finish. Sour cherry and brown sauce in the aftertaste. Doesnt hide the booze well but still pretty brilliant.

A very nice kriek with a very nice sour aroma and flavour profile. Aroma has intense sour cherries, little sweetness, balanced. Flavour is similar, relatively bitter for a kriek, intense cherries, little sweetness, some amaretti bitterness. Very nice!

Piana minimalna, szybko opada do firanki. Barwa miedziana, opalizująca. W aromacie czuć wiśnie, czerwone wino, starą beczkę, ale i rodzynki, karmel, śliwki a nawet odrobinę wanilii... Smak kwaskowy, wiśniowo winny, taniczny, jednocześnie słodowy, pełny, quadruplowy, z dzikim, cierpkim, mineralnym finiszem. Wysycenie niskie, alkohol lekko rozgrzewający, minimalna ziołowa goryczka.
Ciekawe połączenie, wyszło coś pomiędzy kriekiem i ciemnym belgiem, z wyraźną dominacja tego pierwszego, z intensywnymi akcentami beczki i dzikich drożdży.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, as Alvinne Oak Collection Kriek van Mortagne. ABV is 8%. Brownish red colour, minimal carbonation, minimal off-white head. Aroma of red wine vinegar, sour cherries, oak and farmhouse. Very sour and tart flavour, but also quite rich, again with red wine vinegar, sour cherries and oak. The oak and red wine vinegar are very distinct.

Tap at Bad Flash bar. Very intense, rich and complex. Lots of wood, tartness, moderate cherry which almost seems hidden in the overall character. Lactic, dry, tart. Great.
