750 ml bottle - pours deep amber with a red hue, no head. Aroma reveals the sour character of this beer; citrus, cherries, added with a tad of oak. Body is light and one-sided on the sourness; not balanced by a round mouthfeel or sweetness one can find with a good gueuze or a for example a Supplication. Taste is cherries and tart forest fruits all over. A pity it only goes to the sour side.

Taster at the Birch. Pours dark ruby red with a white head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Lots of cherry sourness on the nose and tongue. The tartness definitely lingers has does the cherry.

0,33l bottle at home. BB 10.2021. dark brown color, small tan head. smells marzipan, nutty, cherries, light vinegar, bit grassy. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, nutty, marzipan, light vinegar, bit grassy. finishes medium sour with notes of marzipan, vinegar and some nutty notes. not bad but also balance is not very comvincing, rather heavy and vinegarish. overall still rather drinkable.

Mørk rødbrun med lavt beige skum. Lukter sure kirsebær, vanilje og trevirke. Smaker sure kirsebær, fatlagringen kommer godt fram, noe portvinfølelse, sure bær hele veien.

Keg at MK BG, 08/06/17. Rich claret red with a decent crimson cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is stoned fruits, dried cherry skins, tarte berry must. Taste comprises soured berries, damp hay, wood must, aged oak, acidic bite but restrained. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a light acidic throat scrape at the curtain call. Decent sour ... moderate complexity .... drinks below the ABV.

Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Consumed at home. Pours a dark purplish red with a big khaki/pink head. Lots of visible sediment. It smells of red wine, chocolate and vinegar with pain pronounced woody notes. Sourness at first in the sip followed by a naked sweetness, with a long acidic finish. Sour cherry and brown sauce in the aftertaste. Doesn’t hide the booze well but still pretty brilliant.
