3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml bottle - pours deep amber with a red hue, no head. Aroma reveals the sour character of this beer; citrus, cherries, added with a tad of oak. Body is light and one-sided on the sourness; not balanced by a round mouthfeel or sweetness one can find with a good gueuze or a for example a Supplication. Taste is cherries and tart forest fruits all over. A pity it only goes to the sour side.

Taster at the Birch. Pours dark ruby red with a white head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Lots of cherry sourness on the nose and tongue. The tartness definitely lingers has does the cherry. Werckmeister (3227) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - JUL 26, 2017

Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Consumed at home. Pours a dark purplish red with a big khaki/pink head. Lots of visible sediment. It smells of red wine, chocolate and vinegar with pain pronounced woody notes. Sourness at first in the sip followed by a naked sweetness, with a long acidic finish. Sour cherry and brown sauce in the aftertaste. Doesn’t hide the booze well but still pretty brilliant.
