JorisPPattyn (10140) - BELGIUM - MAR 23, 2010
Black beer with B.C."H.". Very intense ink, liquorice, drop , alcohol nose, very liqueurish. Vanilla, aromatic. Soft sweet-creamy, vanilla taste. Alcohol and more vanilla retronasal. Dark, coloured malts obvious. Alcoholwarming, thinnish body, quite slick. More whisky once warming up. Quite balanced, much of the barrel-aging is quite hidden, except for the warming throatfeel.

Bottle at pre-ZBF 2010. Dark maroon, no head, no lacing. Aroma of cocoa, smoke, prunes, whisky. Taste has toffee, whisky middle, chocolate finish. Tasty.

38cl, new exclusive brew Anno 2010, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex Stout, not too heavy, balanced, hazy, nearly no head, good brew, yet too expensive!

37.5 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with no lasting head. Whiskey and malty aroma. Dark malty flavoured, dry toffee and subdued sweetness. Dark malty and toffee. Smooth wooden note. The base beer really gets mellowed out - not really for the better though. Smooth, subdued and dry malty finish.

Cloudy dark amber with no head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and chocolate and wood. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, caramel, wood, vanilla and alcohol. Finished sweet.

meerbier (1474) - Pijnacker, NETHERLANDS - MAR 9, 2010
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2011 [email protected], May 11, 2.2: Fruit, chocolate and vinegar aroma. Opaque, light brown head, good lace, strange floaties on top of the head. Sweet, light bitter, chocolate, malts, light fruity, sour, whisky. Due to the strange white stuff that looked like mold I didn’t dare drink it. [email protected], Mar 10, 2.9: Melon and bourbon aroma. Strange looking for a beer with no head and stuff but it’s supposed this way. Bourbon, vanilla and dark dried fruits flavors. OK, but nothing wow! Quite thinnish actually for a 10% beer.

Bottle at Pre-ZBF 2010. Dark brown - offwhite bubbles. Light off nots, soapy, butterscotch aroma, licorice, fruity, berries, tobacco, beetroot, roasted, chocolate, light whiskey. Strange.

Tk2 ... bottle at home 26 June 2010 as the world ended (see Dr Who) ... My Secret Santa was gonna get this till it started gushing when i put it into the Box ... opps ... so once i cleaned up ... though i should have it ... deep black ... thin tan lacing ... soft chocolate ... light fruit nose ... nice body ... light sour woody toffee ...i think the sourness has developed and is probably what caused the gushing ... but its not ruining it ... nice good roast ... fruity berries ... little toffee and a light whisky tones ...
