Bottled (from bierkompass.de). Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown creamy head that leaves nice lace. Beautiful imperial stouty aroma with liquorice and salted liquorice boosted a lot. Also a sting of sweet alcohol and rumlike notes. Flavour is pleasant liquorice, vanilla, salted liquorice, some sweet wooden and honeyish notes as well as rather sweet rumlike notes. Mild roasted notes in the finish. Seriously a world class Oak Aged brew. bierkoning (13892) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUL 11, 2010
Bottle from bierkompass.de. Serious gusher. Lost about a third. But the aroma is magic. Dark chocolate, dried fruit, caramel, whisky notes. Full bodied. Malty, roasty, alcoholic flavor with whisky notes, caramel, dark chocolate. Dried fruit. Lovely, well balanced imperial stout with a good complexity. eManu (561) - Kuala Lumpur & Brussels, BELGIUM - JUN 21, 2010
Pours a black color with a red through light, with a nice big creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, oak, chocolate, liquorice and spices.
Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, plums, liquorice, hints of brown surgars, oak wood and spices. Good lively carbonation, sweet and bitter dry. Not really getting that whiskey taste which is good for me. Very complex and well balanced. Not really feeling the alcohol here, but very drinkable and really pleasant, lots of great flavors. marcus (10960) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 21, 2011
Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours black with a rich tan head and a sour malt aroma. This was a gusher. There is a slightly sour treacle flavor, very complex. bhensonb (16110) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 22, 2011
Bottle from Alvinne Beer Shop. Capped 375, and it gushed as the cap loosened. Poured black with a 2 finger creamy tan head. Aroma is sour and oaky. Full bodied. It’s oaky, darkly malty, sour and quite peaty/oaky. A complex and flavorful drink. Excellent. And smooth.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2011 Pours out very dark brown. But with some floaters, and yes, i poured it out carefull, but the beer started flowing while opening the bottle. A medium head, but it colapses very quick. Just an off white small lace stays. Nice sour-sweet, a bit burned smell. Caramel also and wood.Good spiced. Love the smell. Taste starts a bit watery, but very soon the fruits and malts gets trough. Some nice sweetness inside and spices and coffee. Good global taste, just a bit to much carbonation, and maybe the taste is a bit to complex. It’s a bit a shame it’s this high priced, cause I should buy it more otherwise for sure. The aftertaste is also very good. Like it, just the looks (head!!!)... How come this is rated only at 3.50-3.40? Some bottles are good other bad? anders37 (27892) - Malmö, SWEDEN - NOV 26, 2011
Bottle. Rating #8800. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a fruity roasted malty woody chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate woody flavor with hints of whisky. Has a fruity roasted malty chocolate woody finish. Alengrin (5996) - BELGIUM - SEP 5, 2014
Mano Negra matured on whisky barrels, very limited production. Very thick, light beige head, totally black colour, seemingly darker than the regular version (?). Aroma of coffee beans, gravy, chocolate liqueur, Drambuie, hazelnuts, tea, nutmeg, peat; full and oily palate, weakly sweetish, creamy with tea-like spiciness, dominated by coffee-like roasted bitterness, dry finish with single malt-like, warming alcohol. The ageing on Bladnoch barrels sure did this beer good. madsberg (11817) - Søborg, DENMARK - MAR 7, 2010
Bottled. LIght brown head. Brownish dense head. Brown sugar, roast, sweetness, prunes in the aroma. Flavour of ripe fruits, roast, liqourice and caramel. Light smoke and barrel notable. Medium to full bodied. Heavy roasted end. Travlr (26943) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 20, 2010
