(draught) pours a hazy deep golden colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of powdered sugar, pear, cactus juice, light bread crusts, burnt toffee and vanilla. flavour is quite sweet and boozy, with notes of bread crusts, herbal hops, roasted malts and a slightly yeasty finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation. mike_77 (7142) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - APR 30, 2013
ZBF Festival 2013 - Pale brown. The initial impact of this one is it’s thin body and lack of carbonation. The warming bourbon/alcohol is very prominent and also gives some vanilla sweetness to and increasingly dry finish. tderoeck (10340) - Gent, BELGIUM - APR 29, 2013

Clear amber beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of caramel, sweet, sugary, bit fruity, rum (the booze yes), dried fruits, some banana. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: bitter start, grains, alcohol noticeable, little caramel, nutty, more alcohol sweetness, bit metallic. Aftertaste: sugary touch, metallic, bitter, banana, rum again. Pretty good, but I preferred the Monbazillac!
Tap at ZBF´13, Leuven: Clear amber coloured brew with dry-bitter taste and some hints of fruit and vanilla. larsga (7668) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 7, 2013
Small offwhite head. Hazy amber body with huge floaties and carbonation. Dried fruit vanilla aroma with bubble gum notes. Dry-sweet dried fruit and bubble gum vanilla taste with alcoholic notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish, slightly hot mouthfeel. Dry dried fruit and vanilla aftertaste with grassy bitter notes. Really interesting, but a bit strong and sharp. (0.5l bottle, shared by Ole_R.)

Botella de 500ml. Vaso tumbler. Bart (2936) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 24, 2013
500ml bottle. Tumbler glass. Enjoyed on mar´13. Burnish brass in color, veiled appearance. Off-white froth shows fairly good retention. Aromas of wood, bourbon, toasted malts, alcohol & molasses. Fruity, slight toasted malt& gentle bitter flavors remain hidden by Bourbon flavor. Medium body.High carbonation. Watery texture. Hot sensation. Bourbon all over. Dissapointing from Alvinne.
Bottle @ Alvinne Proeflokaal. Amber to brown coloured beer with some medium carbonation and a small white head. Sweet herby almost pear fruity hinted aroma. Full palate. Finish is sweet light fruity with a short yeasty note. Not bad. OleR (4849) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 16, 2013
A tall fluffy blond head, atop a clear amber colored body. Fresh smell of candy-like fruits. A whiff of alcohol, subtle wood and bourbon. Lively carbonation, feels quite full in the mouth. Medium malt body. Fairly sweet with a touch of caramel. Light acidic fruit tones. Rounded oak and bourbon. Earthy and resinous bitterness underneath. Alcohol is noticable, providing a warming sensation. Lingering bitter-sweet ending. Complex and tasty. Good stuff. 50cl bottle picked up at the De Molen bottle shop pours with a clear copper body that harbors tiny floaties and supports a tall billowing light tan head of foam. the first whiff of the aroma was pure sweet bourbon and vanilla and nothing else. A few more drags hints at brown sugar, prune and raisin like esters. Well, those notes are faint but the booze, bourbon and vanilla are not. Wow, the taste is sadly similar with sweet vanilla and bourbon and really very little else. I guess at least the booziness is smooth and isn’t coming across hot or harsh. That said I wish there was more balance and more of the base beer coming through. If I’m getting beneath the barrel treatment I seem to be getting sweet raisins, prunes and a black pepper note. Too much barrel time for my taste. sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - MAR 6, 2013
