On bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika. Dark golden color, good foam- small bubbles. Immediate aromas of wood, caramel, bourbon- ok fruitiness. Medium/ full body & high complexity. Some bitterness, also sweetness- but impressive balance. Very enjoyable

Bourbon barrel-aged Melchior, very limited. Thick, creamy head over a deep copper beer with orange hue, hazy. Complex sweet and spicy bouquet, appetizing, white grapes, gooseberry, pear, vanilla, pepper, cloves, candi syrup and indeed bourbon, wood. Fruity, full taste, apricot, pear, grapes, caramelly and honeyish malt sweetness, becoming more complex in the finish with tannins, woody dryness, floral hops and agreeable, whisky-like alcohol warmth. The wood ageing clearly did this beer good, a very fine barley wine this is.

A tall fluffy blond head, atop a clear amber colored body. Fresh smell of candy-like fruits. A whiff of alcohol, subtle wood and bourbon. Lively carbonation, feels quite full in the mouth. Medium malt body. Fairly sweet with a touch of caramel. Light acidic fruit tones. Rounded oak and bourbon. Earthy and resinous bitterness underneath. Alcohol is noticable, providing a warming sensation. Lingering bitter-sweet ending. Complex and tasty. Good stuff. [Shared bottle enjoyed @yngwies. 01.12.12]

(Bottled) Tartness and wet wood in the nose with pale maltiness and aromatic hops. Lightly vinous flavor with pale malt, tartness, some sugar, vanilla, pear and lime notes, not too sweet. Alcohol fully hidden. I would call this a success - quite balanced and enjoyable. 4467

Tasted at the 4th BBF @ de Molen. Hazy orange pour. Aroma of vanilla, fruity, leather and some alcohol. Flavor is slightly harsh, alcohol and bourbon. Fruity, sweet and strong. Off balance.

Bottle. Copper color, virtually no head. Aroma of vanilla and raisin. Taste is sweet at first, with vanilla and raisin, after that the bourbon kicks in with some mildly sharp booze, some bitter hops in the finish as well. Nice, but a bit thin, could use more depth in body and flavor.

Habanero (4367) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - MAY 10, 2014
Bottled. Pours amber with a small, laicing beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, dried fruit, vanilla, wood and bourbon notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with alcohol notes. Medium to full bodied, oily to syrupy texture and soft carb. An excellent barley.

On tap @ Borefts 2012. The last beer @ Borefts 2012. Random that its this one really. It has a lovely glowing plum-red colored one with a small bubbly just off-white top. On the nose its sweet and caramel fruity. Strong frozen and concentrated strawberries with some cherries-like fruitiness. Quite nice. Strong and some what, no make that really warming! Oh! Boozy-strong with loads of alcohol! Al$ost burning my throat swallowing this. Light fruity as well with a soft lemonade hint. To boozy and warming to really enjoy. 30.09.2012
