33cl, new exclusive brew Anno 2009, from De Hopduvel Gent, very complex brew, yet heavy, balanced, cloudy, small head, top class!, yet very expensive anders37 (26588) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JAN 20, 2010
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty spicy woody bourbon aroma with some yeasty hints. Sweetish malty spicy vanilla bourbon flavor with hints of caramel and yeast. Has a sweetish malty spicy woody vanilla and bourbon finish. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 23, 2010
(Bottled) Tartness and wet wood in the nose with pale maltiness and aromatic hops. Lightly vinous flavor with pale malt, tartness, some sugar, vanilla, pear and lime notes, not too sweet. Alcohol fully hidden. I would call this a success - quite balanced and enjoyable. 4467 oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAY 31, 2011

2nd ES/CS Beer Tasting. (thanks G.V.!). Hazy goldeny pale amber colour with a mediumsized creamy head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is sour wooden along with some vanilla, bourbon and sweet maltyness. Flavour is sweet malts, wood, mild boubon, some vanilla and also some tartness. Wellbalanced and hides the alcohol very well.
On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours moderately hazy caramel-gold with a fine, white cream head. Sugary malt aroma with punches of honey and toffee. Big sweet flavor with honey, toffee, apples, light alcohol, fruitcake. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with mild warmth, sticky sugars, mellow dry wood, ripe apple, rich bread. Quite well rounded and not too cloying.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2014 500 ml bottle at home. Barreled on Wild Turkey and/or Maker’s Mark I reckon. Anyhow - it’s good! Vanilla, tart fruit and fruity barrel notes (chestnut, caramel...). Nice medium body, a tad alcohol heat, but rich flavours. Alengrin (5334) - BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2014
Bourbon barrel-aged Melchior, very limited. Thick, creamy head over a deep copper beer with orange hue, hazy. Complex sweet and spicy bouquet, appetizing, white grapes, gooseberry, pear, vanilla, pepper, cloves, candi syrup and indeed bourbon, wood. Fruity, full taste, apricot, pear, grapes, caramelly and honeyish malt sweetness, becoming more complex in the finish with tannins, woody dryness, floral hops and agreeable, whisky-like alcohol warmth. The wood ageing clearly did this beer good, a very fine barley wine this is. seynie (408) - Tienen, BELGIUM - FEB 11, 2015
Hazy amber with a huge white head. Gushing out of the bottle in fact. Smoke, tanninnes, vanilla, alcohol, Port., spices. Full body. Nice finish, Port like fkoolen (1210) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - OCT 13, 2013
Beautifully hazy amber colour with a creamy beige head. Nose has strawberry, caramel, honey, spices and alcohol. Complex taste with malts, sweet and dried fruits, honey, caramel, some sourness and coffee. Balanced/nicely present bourbon and some bitterness in the aftertaste. Firm, oily body with lively carbonation. Special!
