CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 28, 2012
(75cl bottle) Courtesy of Jonas. Pours a huge frothy, quick dissipating head atop an orange head. Lots of sediment. Very sour with a honey overtone. --- reviewed on RateBeer.com

Bottle @ Alvinne. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber color with a small fast disappearing off-white head. Has a malty caramel aroma with hints of wine and hints of wood. Smooth malty caramel flavors with hints of dark fruit vanilla and wine. Has a malty finish with hints of dark fruit and hints from the wood. A nice one.

jerohen (2379) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - NOV 11, 2009
Tasted at 1st Borefts Beer Festival, Bodegraven. Amber coloured. Fruity notes, a bit sour. Better than the bourbon barrel version. And that’s about all my notes say.

NoiZe (2394) - Zeist, NETHERLANDS - DEC 5, 2009
Tasted at the first, great, Borefts Beer Festival 2009 @ De Molen. Amber colored brew. Very nice aroma of bourgogne wine. Flavor has got the vinous tones too, some sweetness, fruits and a bit oaky. Nice.

Ober (2811) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - JAN 21, 2010
A clear golden/amber colored beer, with a thick foamy white head. The aroma is fruity and malty, winery. some sweet. The taste of wood with fruits, like grapes with alcohol. The aftertaste is bittersweet with hints of alcohol.

sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 29, 2011
(Bottled, 0.75l, 11.5% ABV) Murky orange-brown with a very small head. The Bourgogne barrel is evident in the nose, with grainy-caramely maltiness, dried fruit, and some typical aged Belgian character. Somewhat similar to Stille Nacht. Flavor is even more bourgogney, with grainy-caramely maltiness strongly present, and even some surprisingly fresh, exotic-citrusy fruitiness. Alcohol well hidden. Medium to full body, low CO2, refreshing. A reasonably successful barrel ageing, resulting in a complex and freshly fruity flavor.

Alengrin (5884) - BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2014
The burgundy barrel-aged Melchior, with cream white, coarse, milky head and deep copper colour like the other Melchiors, hazy with large protein flakes. Strong fruity aroma of peach, apple sauce, brown sugar, cognac, mint, liquorice, cinnamon, oak, grapes, rosewater. Mellow sweet fruity taste, apple, grape, full caramelly and honeyish maltiness with complex spicy notes, woody finish with floral hops and warming, brandy-like alcohol, long and dry. Great, but somehow I found the bourbon aged version a bit better.

Bottle at Peter’s 2nd annual spring gathering. Hazy orange with ring head. SWeet tea and spice aroma. Sweet orange tea spice and vanilla flavors. Nice effervescence. Deceptively tasty. Works nicely.
