Bottle at First German Ratebeer gathering at Idar Oberstein. Lemon peel and Calvados aroma. Hazy golden yellow color with small head. Sweet and musty lemon and barley malt flavor. Nice beer. 77ships (11479) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 20, 2017
Thank you for sharing RB Crew! Sampled draft @ GBF 2017. Murky brownish orange with only a few bubbles. Nose is rotting dark fruits, boozy with spoiled fruit, murky messy malt, sugar. Taste is alcoholic soap, overripe fruit, lots of rotting fruit notes, spoiled oak, dark fruit, too alcoholic. Body is soap, lacking carbonation, very messy. Far too messy, lacking carbonation, spoiled fruit. This treatment didn’t fully work for me but others quite liked it. hopscotch (11410) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 13, 2011
Bottle… Cloudy peach-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. Odd bouquet - spicy, salty, herbal and earthy. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. Like the aroma, the flavor is odd, but enjoyable – herbal and earthy. Spicy mustard seed, anise, coriander, earthy hops, light acidity and a touch of salt. Finishes earthy and herbal. Strange brewery, this one. Lots of hits, misses and almosts. Always off-center. faroeviking (11331) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - FEB 10, 2011

Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy peach color with a small white ring of bubbles. The aroma is tangy, tart fruits, woody, white grapes, with some herbal notes. The flavor has a burst of tart fruits, herbal, woody before the alcohol heat takes over. Much of the finish was dominated by alcohol. Medium bodied. Interesting, but too hot. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 1, 2012
A light, clear amber pour, small off white head. Aroma is all over the place! Tons of brandy notes, woody, herbal notes, some earthy aromas as well. Sweet and boozy up front on the flavor, some interesting herbal flavors and spice. Finishes warm. Fin (11047) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 10, 2009
Bottle at pre ZBF at Alvinne 06-03-09 Pours murky golden with a thin white head. Aroma is woody of that there is no doubt and the Calvados ageing is noticeable, as I can just pick an appleyness. Its got quite a tanginess and its really quite interesting but the actual beer seems a little lost. Despite its best efforts to draw me in I never really got on with this beer, but nonetheless am pleased to see beers like this and was glad to have tried it.
