Bottled. Orange colourd. Unclear. Small beige head. Sourness, light yeast, some fruits and calva in the aroma. Flavour is sour and yeasty as well. loads of alcohol notable and wood as well. Hazy copper-amber color, small mostly vanishing head. Aroma has lots of raisins, alcohol, cognac, riped apples. Medium-bodied. Alcoholic "bitterness", fruity with raisins and plums, hints of apples, lychee. Flavor is certainly similar to regular Melchior, but this is not so liquerish as it is and calvados barrel brings some extra sweetness. Heavy stuff with 11.5% ABV.
(Bottle, 0.75 l, at the 16th Kerstbierfestival) The beer piured yellowish brown and cloudy. Its head was small, sparse and white. Aroma had malts, vanilla and apples. Palate was full bodied, warming and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, vanilla, apples, sweetness, fruitiness, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody and bitter. Bottled sample consumed at Avenue Pub. Gold in colour with moderate yet spritzy carbonation. Aromas are of sour citrus, oak, liquor (maybe white vermouth), and mustard. Bottle at the Alvinne pre Zythos event 09. Bit of apple on aroma, way too much apple in the mouth. Just a bit too muh stewed apple and green apple flavour for me. May settle down after a few months in bottle.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Slightly hazy amber with a tiny, big-bubbly head. Mild, fruity aroma with apple and peach, a touch of citrusy hops, and some caramely maltiness. Lightly sour-grainy-malty, sweetish and very fruity flavor with apples, peaches, and oranges, very little bitterness. Alcohol quite well hidden. Medium to full body, flat CO2. The vanilla sourness in Mackmyra version was quite pleasant, but Calvados barrel seems just to add loads of fruitiness, pretty much reducing complexity of the original. Draught. Mustard seeds? Really? Good or bad I didn’t seem to notice them at all. For me the aroma and flavor was reminiscent of sour cherries. I also did not notice the 11+ ABV too. Okay.
