Bottle. [thank you, harrisoni]caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - OCT 23, 2009
My first beer after a short-ish beer hiatus of nineteen days.
Pours a lovely, clear orange golden with a great, staying, creamy head. Mostly white, but with a slight yellow hue to it someplaces. I poured a bit more than I probably should, so a few large lumps of yeast plumped into the glass. Probably won’t make a difference. Head stays for quite a long time, descending slowly in a ring, leaving lacings on the glass and a cone in the middle. Lovely aroma. Lots of overripe apple, some oak, toffee, caramel malts and yeast. There is oranges, pineapple and other exotic fruit notes as well. Highish prickly carbonation, but still maintains a good oily feel. Flavour is quite vinious, but never really alcohol-heavy. Lots of apples again, mixed with lovely fat toffee and those yeast exotic fruit notes. Warming finish with very little bitterness. Very nice.
Bottled. Cloudy golden color, big head. Aroma of the spicy mustardy melchior, combined with oak aged notes and hint of green apples, some liquor, hint of yeast. Nicely balanced taste, fruity, slight yeast, the spicy mustard flowing through. Travlr (25275) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 23, 2010
Hazy amber color, thin white head. Aroma of apple sauce and light spice. Taste is apples, cinnamon, some citrus. Interesting and complex, more like a cider than a beer. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 24, 2010
Bottle courtesy of Travlr. Red apple skin nose. Pours a cloudy,
chunky from the yeast, bright, deep orange. Taste is like very good spiked unfiltered apple cider. Boozy, a bit syrupy on the palate. Very sweet with massive red apple character. It’s pretty damn good but if blind tasting I would put in under ice cider or something. anders37 (26734) - Malmö, SWEDEN - FEB 26, 2010
Bottle. Pours an orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity and sweetish spicy calvados aroma with some woody hints. Sweetish warming spicy yeasty oak flavor with weak hints of calvados. Has a warming malty spicy woody finish.

Bottle. It pours cloudy golden with a creamy white head. The aroma is quite vinous, oak, caramel, acid, fresh fruit and citric hops. The flavour is sweet caramel, acid, brett, sweet fruit and oranges. Very good! bhensonb (15355) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 14, 2011
Bottle at the Triple Rock Sour & BA Fest. Pours hazy orange with a creamy off-white head. Mild sour fruit aroma. Flavor is slightly soalpym mildly fruity, a bit vinous, mildly hoppy, pretty oaky. Cant’t feel the heat. Nice Belgian. V. nice. Tmoney99 (14627) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 14, 2011
Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, yeast and wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy complex sour& sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded with an well above average brew.

Holy (837) - GERMANY - MAR 21, 2011
@ACBF 2011. Strong notes of calvados throughout the sip. Moderate alcohol burn end game. Nice.
