BlackHaddock (7574) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 17, 2016
Shared bottle at the 4th International Beer Swap in De Bierboom, Brugge on 5th Feb 2016. Red hue to the body, no head worthy of the name. Sour from the beginning to the end, red berries and cherries with a yeast infection sort of brew. Not for me and my semi-sweet malty palate.

28/XI/15 - 50cl bottle @ Winters Bierfestival (Vichte) - BB: n/a (2015-1658) Thanks to Bierridder_S and the Gentse Biervereniging crew for sharing today’s beers!

Clear bright red beer, no head. Aroma: Alvinne funk, very fruity, little dirty. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sour, cranberries, very dry, sour, some vinegar, little dirty. Aftertaste: some tannins, sour, bit metallic, lemon juice.

28/11/2015 - 15cl sample from 50cl bottle @WBF2015, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte - shared with tderoeck. Hazy light red. with small head. Sour, sour fruits, good fruit flavors but the sour is a bit too much for me.

kraddel (8733) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - NOV 29, 2015
pled at Winterbierfestival ( Vichte ) 2015. Pours unclear red, small white head. Smell is dry and sour. Taste is dry, sour, much of the buckthorn rises to the top. Cherry is less intense here - Appart from the ’wet’ taste cherries can give a beer. Complex, intense and sour, but less than a lambic-style fruitsour. Still, I like this beer a lot, as like most other alvinne sours.

ElManana (2079) - Scheldewindeke, BELGIUM - NOV 28, 2015
Bottle at Winters bierfestival Vichte. Acid sour, vinegar, dark fruits, berries, not bad, not great.

Bottle at neutnigenough
Quite sharp,a touch acetic perhaps but only serves to make it easer drinking, deep burgundy brown with pink tinged head. Plenty of cherry fruit, quite dry, sour, rough around the edges perhaps but suits food well, quite high carbonation.

Ne dOoRn eN KrIek [email protected] nuetnigenough July 15. Looks..Rich ruby red,sml head Smells.. Fresh fruity cherries, it’s two months old, so the fruit is big and doninates. Tastes..I’ve never had blackthorn before, but the cherries feel just slightly dulled by a small tart berry at first, but they come back and it’s refreshingly sour, there is some oak and woody vines on the finish.. this is in the fucking awesome category.. Brought a bottle back to Australia for the future too.

PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 4, 2015
50cl bottle at Nüetnigenough. APPEARANCE>: light clouded red beer, very hard to get foam. NOSE: very sour, blackthorn all the way. TASTE: very strong start, comes in very sour, afterwards it softness in little toward the cherries being there. But reminds me of Hanssens Oud Beitje in a way...
