14/II/15 - 50cl bottle @ RBBWG IV (Beerlover_Ben’s place) - BB: n/a (2015-1840) Thanks to Beerlover_Ben for sharing the bottle!

Note: recently I discovered I had no rating for this. Dove into my paper archive and luckily was able to find the notes, as I noticed the other ratings from the 2015 RBBWG/ :-)

Little cloudy red to purple beer, no head. Aroma: pretty sourish, lemony, funky, wild yeast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: cherries, lots of alcohol, very sourish, some vinegar, vinous notes. Aftertaste: very fruity, intense red berries and cherries, vinegar, red wine notes, bitter, some tannins, sourish finish.

At a tasting, almost no head, cloudy murky rusty red color, aroma of red berries red wine vinegar, oakiness in back, flavor of strawberries and vanila with a jammy hint, light to to medium and quite noticable sourness. Really nice and highly drinkable.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Tom L. Cloudy red. Aroma of funk, lots of cherries, oak, vinegar. Very sour yet very pleasant flavor, puckering, with cherries, oak, funk, lemony, some vinegar, a bit astringent. Medium-bodied. Great.

04/08/2015 @home – 50cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck
Clear read without head. Sourness, cherries, some wood notes, dry. Too much sourness for me. Damn, long time I could say from an Alvinne beer that I’m not a fan. Sorry, can’t love ‘m all.

500 ml bottle at home. Pours ruby red with light mahony hue, no head, just some white bubbly ring. Incredibly tart and jammy aroma, primarily of sour cherries and raspberries. Lactic (as usual with Alvinne). Light body, quite some sourness and tartness, fruity character prevailing. Some citric acid in the taste and dry oak chips. Nice.

(draught) hazy ruby-brown colour with no head. aroma of cherry stones and raspberries, with a light hint of chlorine, herbal hops, bread dough, vinegar and banana skins. flavour is mostly coconut, bread dough and alcohol, with a hint of lingonberries, some light yeast and a rather sour finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

Alengrin (5788) - BELGIUM - APR 26, 2015
Sour fruit beer made for Bierhalle De Koninck, with loose, off-white, quickly opening and eventually dissolving head, cloudy pinkish red colour with brownish hue. Fresh sour cherries in the nose and lots of it, strawberry, lemon juice, apple, red berries, bread; assertively sour onset, lots of sour cherries, drying and a bit astringent, medium carbo, some bready and lightly caramelly malt suggestions providing a supportive background sweetishness, but the finish too is dominated by drying fruit acidity. Recommended to sour beer lovers.
