OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 8, 2014
Bottle enjoyed at home. Virtually no head. Clear ruby brown body. Modest aroma of sour cherries, grape skin and red wine. Clean-smelling funky with hint of oak, balsmico and malt drops. Slick the mouth, almost flat. Medium full. Taste has a pleasant mild sourness. More lactic than acetic. Red wine vinous. Light tart cherries/red berries. Subtle oak notes, light earthy, hint of tannins. Tasty, and pretty much a palate-cleanser.

Bottle. A clear, light brown beer topped by a minimal sized off-white hea. The aroma has lots of wood, some chicken farm, rhubarb, berries, grapes and is in general rather vinous. The flavor is much more subdued than the aroma, slighlty vinegar-ish, with some sweetness, and the same rhubarb, berries and wood found in the aroma. Full body, semi-dry on the palate. Well, I like the vinous part of this beer, but overall it’s a bit messy and far from fantastic. 130607

Bottle 500ml @ Geokkjer
Pours hazy dark amber/brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, rhubarb, berries, gooseberries, tart, wood and grapes. Taste is medium to heavy sour with a long very dry, berries and fruity finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is flat.

tfredvik (1941) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 30, 2013
Pours a very dark brown to red body with a small, bubbly, eggnog head that disappears completely very fast, except for a long-lasting ring of bubbles at the walls of the glass. Strong aroma with light funky notes, sour red wine ("ouch, we forgot all about that bottle of Valpolicella we opened 5 days ago, lets take a sniff to see if we still can use it for cooking") and tart berries. The barnyard notes are subtle enough for me to really enjoy the aroma. Light to moderate sweet taste that lasts into the long finish, accompanied by a light to moderate sourness. Strong flavours of tart berries, especially cherries and cherry pits, gentle funky notes and a nice sweet caramel background that sweetens things up a bit. Medium body, dry texture, soft carbonation. Enjoyable! (by the way, it didn’t have the effect on my wife that I’d hoped for)
[50 cl bottle, Lot 604, enjoyed 4 years before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]

Cunningham (7961) - Halden, NORWAY - JUN 17, 2013

Appearance: Dark cloudy amber color with a tan head that ends up in a thin layer.
Aroma: Sour and acidic fruity. Some oak and red wine.
Palate: Medium body. Dry and a rich sourness. Acidic. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Dominating sour red wine. Oak. Immature apples, and acidic fruity.
Overall impression: When I read my own rating, it does not sound good. But it is nice tasty and refreshing. One bottle is enough for one evening.
Personal stats: Bottle at Café Sara in Oslo, Norway

daje (4436) - NORWAY - JUN 14, 2013
Bottle, shared march 23rd 2013. Muddy brown body, no head, just some small vanishing bubbles here and there. Aroma is pretty much red wine, with yeast tartness and wood. Taste is sweeter than first imagined, caramel, red wine and apples. Finishes more or less like red wine. While I do like the beer, I think maybe the red wine barrelling is a bit overdone here.
