English: Granted, it was damn ’ difficult, but our customers asked for such a beer, we are actually quite proud of the fact that we succeeded. What we have succeeded with is to produce a beer that is not already from the first sip an attack on your tastebuds with a screeching hop bitterness and oceans of alcohol. Bryggen’s Blonde is probably best described as a beer with a gentle appearance that appeals to the thoughtful segment, rather than the tanned, hardened beer enthusiasts. In the glass it appears a warm golden beer both creamy and delicious. The scent is rich in floral tones and a slight hint of yeast reveals the Belgian inspiration.
With Bryggens Blond we would like to thank those of our customers who reminded us that a good beer does not always have to be a wild and violent experience.

In short: A well malted golden ale with a disturbing rotting “stuff” character

How: Bottle 500ml. Consumed a few days after receiving it through private importation but it was already close to expiration date

The look: Slightly cloudy dark blonde body topped by a very small white head

In long: Taste of wet toasted bread, old citrus fruits, decomposing flowers, wet graham cookies, old dishcloth, moist. An overall sensation of wet/decaying organic stuff. The beer was still before expiration date but it felt like it was two years past due-date. Pretty bad. Drain poor. And expensive too (at least over here), this is my worst investment idea since my 2004 GM’s gonna bounce back investment strategy.

(Rating #2361)

My Bottom Line:

This approachable Golden Ale exhibits deep cereal notes alongside a citrus and mango-like hop fruitiness that eases into levelled earthy bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:

-A veil of foam skirts the cloudy orange-golden.

-The mouthfeel is cushy, smoothly carbonated and drinkable, but the flavor profile could be brighter.

-In the end, a light vegetal character rises.

-I guess the recipe is just not as compelling as most Amager beers I’ve had so far.

500ml bottle, batch 109, cloudy orange gold hue, with a small white head, falling quickly, yeasty, fruity, grainy honeyed pale malt nose with a some peach, apricot, mango, pineapple esters, with a wet crunched cereal, light corny accent, and a mild floral hop citrusy, lemon peel note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, spicy, toasty, biscuity, honeyish pale malt character, with some zesty, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot flavors, with a light flowery hop leafy, grassy citrusy accent, leading towards a faint zesty, citrusy, lingering hop bitterness finish.

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. It’s a hazy, slightly pale golden beer with some microfloaties and a white head. Some sourish notes on the nose, with fruits and lemon, hops and a little chalky touch. Fruity and malty-sweet with some grains, and piney hops giving a fine bitterness. Full-bodied. Long, piney, bitter finish. I suspect there’s something wrong with the bottle, as there were some sourish and chalky notes in the aroma. At least it wasn’t past BB-date. A very refreshing beer, not a big one, but a fine thirst quencher. (090213)

[email protected] Sweet citrus and floral aroma. Yellow colour, off-white head, fair lace. Sweet, very bitter, very grassy, hop pellets. Sticky with hop dry finish. Unbalanced, English blond ale with American hops.

A golden ale with a fine head. The aroma is malty with notes of citrus and yeast. The same goes for the flavour, but it’s really not that interesting. A little too plain...

Bottle courtesy of papsoe. Pours gold with a nice white head. Smells of toasted malt, some light sweet citrus, wildflowers, dough. Tastes lightly bitter with a nice touch of caramel, some hints of biscuits. Some straw on the finish. Very enjoyable.
