Bottle from Bier Koning.
Strong nose of red apple, caramel and dark fruit. Well hidden alcohol.
Well balanced flavor profile, but wish it was slightly richer and more complex. Just doesn’t have the flavor intensity I desire in a strong, sweet beer. Overall though, I still found it to be a solid beer. I enjoyed it.

Bottle courtesy of Ang’ (cheers Ang’!) shared at Moncada Tap Room, Ladbroke Grove, West London, Friday 7th October 2016 Wow what an unbelievable nose, quite amazing, reminds me of Gales Prize Old Ale, it’s beefy there is Oxo, it’s leathery, it’s amazing, stunning. However in the mouth like many an old beer (this is 7-8 years old I believe) but it’s broken down, the Promise of what the nose was suggesting failed to materialise, it’s still quite good, it’s warming, it’s fine in the mouth but does not meet the expectation that the nose promised at all. Delt 0,25 l flaske. Klar mahognifarget kropp. Søtlig lett svovel og fusel med sviske, tørket fruktig nese. Sviske, tawny port i munnen. Alkovarm. Fyldig, flat og kraftig. Sigmund (7919) - Tau, NORWAY - JUN 20, 2015
250 ml bottle, from the brewery. Batch #86. BB end of 2020. ABV is 14%. Dark brown colour, hardly any head nor any carbonation. Aroma of oak, malts, calvados and molasses. Warming mouthfeel. Very oaky and alcoholic sweet flavour, notes of calvados, brown kandij sugar and dark dried fruits. The total lack of carbonation is not to my liking. Kavu (5129) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 11, 2014
