Danish.

English: Take a good thing and make it even better thats the philosophy behind Double Black Mash. This huge Imperial Stout was easily big and potent enough after the first mashing, but we thought what the heck lets give it another spin. So we mashed it in a second time doubling everything that was already good while aiming for great. All grain, heavy duty, no nonsense. Did we hit what we aimed at? Well, thats really up to you to decide. If you like it big and black this for is your kinda beer for sure.

Ingredienser: Vand, Malte: Pilsner, Pale, Mnchener, Roasted Barley, Cara-hell, Melanoidin, Light chocolate, Cara-aroma, Crystal og Black, Humle: Cascade og Chinook, Gr: US Ale

PapaVillum (929) - Valby, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2017
Bottle thanks to Ben! Pours deep black, small brown head, dissipates fairly slowly, good lacing. Aroma is rich baking cocoa, molasses, leather. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, rich, roasty and meaty. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Excellent for a non-BA imperial stout. Perfectly balanced decadence.

Bottle. Snifter. Pitch black with big, thick, aggressive, light brown head. Very good head retention and lacing. Hey malty aroma - mainly roasted, dark chocolate, molasses, caramel, cane sugar. After warming up slight ABV notes. Taste is light heavy sweet with moderate bitterness - stable and very long. Full body, sticky and thick texture, soft carbonation, finish is bitter, molasses, sugary, roasted. Lighlty ABV warming down the throat. Moderate to highly drinkable. In overall nice monster, but not perfect. Very good, balance combination of roasted and sweet malts. Beside malts there is nothing very interesting here and the ABV should be more hidden. IMO really good movement should be barrel aging this brew in red wine barrels to give it some time and be infused with some nice notes. Solid 4.0, but nothing more.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2016 From Boxbeer.com: pours black, oily, clear, with foamy light brown/brown head. Aroma: intense malt aroma, with notes of dark, milk chocolate, espresso coffee, cavao nibs, molasses, toasted toffee, hint of caramel, dark fruits esters, piniy, citrusy note of hops. Flavor is very similar: intense roasted note, rich malt flavors, which the same notes mentioned above, supported with gentle vanilla and licorice...with dark fruits esters and gentle and very well balanced hop flavors, with piny, citrusy notes. Hop bitterness is high, and together with bitterness of roasted acids lingers in aftertaste. Body is very full (plato aproximatelly 30), texture soft, carbonation is moderate. Huge.

Bottle shared. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has lots of sweet roasted malts, quite some hops, chocolate and a bit of fruityness. Intense, a bit boozy. Medium sweet, over medium bitter. Close to full body, low carbonation.
