Danish.

English: Take a good thing and make it even better – that’s the philosophy behind Double Black Mash. This huge Imperial Stout was easily big and potent enough after the first mashing, but we thought what the heck let’s give it another spin. So we mashed it in a second time doubling everything that was already good while aiming for great. All grain, heavy duty, no nonsense. Did we hit what we aimed at? Well, that’s really up to you to decide. If you like it big and black this for is your kinda beer for sure.

Ingredienser: Vand, Malte: Pilsner, Pale, Münchener, Roasted Barley, Cara-hell, Melanoidin, Light chocolate, Cara-aroma, Crystal og Black, Humle: Cascade og Chinook, Gær: US Ale

Black with dark brown thick head. Picked up notes of espresso, dark chocoloate and burned malt in the nose. Flavor was very intense with a thick mouthfeel. Oily and burned. Packed with burned malt, espresso, dark chocolate. All grain and boy does that work. Not a dextrose bomb like so many other high ABV stouts. Intense though balanced. Simply lovely - masterpiece!

Baardzo słodkie i wyklejające, melasa, kakao, słodka czekolada, troszke skontrowane palonością, sporo ciała, alkohol przyjemnie rozgrzewa, finisz lekko goryczkowy od chmieli i słodów palonych.

500 ml bottle. Batch 1528. Pours a thick syrupy black with moderate tawny head. Aromas of soya sauce, kahlua, dark molasses and slick roasted malts. Rich flavours of dark chocolate syrup, soya sauce, vanilla, molasses, creamy coffee, roasted malts and a little coconut. Creamy and smooth. Warming mouthfeel. Great stuff

Imperial Geryrial (2) - Schwäbisch Gmünd, Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - APR 9, 2017 does not count

PapaVillum (944) - Valby, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2017
Bottle thanks to Ben! Pours deep black, small brown head, dissipates fairly slowly, good lacing. Aroma is rich baking cocoa, molasses, leather. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, rich, roasty and meaty. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Excellent for a non-BA imperial stout. Perfectly balanced decadence.

Bottle. Snifter. Pitch black with big, thick, aggressive, light brown head. Very good head retention and lacing. Hey malty aroma - mainly roasted, dark chocolate, molasses, caramel, cane sugar. After warming up slight ABV notes. Taste is light heavy sweet with moderate bitterness - stable and very long. Full body, sticky and thick texture, soft carbonation, finish is bitter, molasses, sugary, roasted. Lighlty ABV warming down the throat. Moderate to highly drinkable. In overall nice monster, but not perfect. Very good, balance combination of roasted and sweet malts. Beside malts there is nothing very interesting here and the ABV should be more hidden. IMO really good movement should be barrel aging this brew in red wine barrels to give it some time and be infused with some nice notes. Solid 4.0, but nothing more.
