Many breweries with respect for themselves, has a Single-Hop series in the assortment. Single-Hop can often be pale ales and IPA which only used one hop type. Amager Brewery went a little further with the idea and brewed three pale ales with some hops still at experimental stage, and was not commercialized and perhaps never will be. This is therefore a hop type which may be merged and refined by several other known types of hops, and which at this stage carries the experimental name HBC436.
Exhop has a fine dark golden color with a little glow of amber. Foam is rich. It smells really exciting exotic fruits like peach and passion fruit. The taste is carefully malty with touches of light caramel, but soon enters a nice hoppy flavor of the above mentioned fruits. Last in the taste spectrum there is some bitter tones of pine needles which draws its flavor protracted. This is a very elegant and tasty pale ale, which despite a IBU value of a only 26 yet is rich in hops good properties. It is mighty delicious. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - OCT 9, 2014
Bottled (backlog). Hazy amber colour with a mediumsized creamy slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruity, citrusy, nectary and also some mild toffee/caramel to it. Flavour is citrus, caramel, fudge, mild nectar and some sweetish wooden notes. Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - JUL 11, 2014
Hazy orange of color with an off white head. An aroma of grass, yeast and malt. A flavor of yeast, malt and hops. yngwie (17109) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 25, 2013
Bottle. A big, creamy, off-white head sits on top of a dark golden, almost clear body. Lacings too. The aroma is grassy with a nice maltyness. A tad boring I think. Pleasant bitterness in the mouth, grassy hops and a fine malty backdrop too. Medium to full body, nicely carbonated, and semi-dry. Bitter finish. Both aroma and flavor is a bit boring, obviously the hop isn’t set for a task like an APA, or of course it might be that there’s not enough of it, but as the beer is brewed by Amager, I doubt that’s the problem. 130111 Skinnyviking (9644) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 2, 2013
Bottle. High creamy lasting dense white head. Hazy amber body. Mild grass hops fruity aroma. Grassy hoppy flavor with a nice grapefruit sourness. High carbonation. Long dry and bitter finish.

Hazy amber beer, good white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with a carbonated nip. A little creamy malt. A mild hop this 436 - like 517 but more mellow. Little mint, mild lime and a trace of tangerine. Finishes semi dry. A light and pleasant pale ale.
Papsoe’s (enormous thanks again!), through ogivlado and Maja, shared with heavy too. Yay! Poured a murky dark golden body, quite lovely, with a medium sized slightly off white head. Just slightly fishy, quite grainy apricot aroma, very nice and I had big expectations from the taste... and then I couldn’t find it. It’s bitter, that’s certain, but there’s so little "else" that those ashy/herbal 26 IBUs are very, very prominent, going into the aftertaste. Befuddling after the aroma. Great to have tried it, and I reckon the hop has potential, but though OK enough, this kinda needed some work.
