3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a clear amber body with a medium creamy white head. Nose is peachy melon and grass, with hints of citrus and pine. Taste is honey, dry hay and grass tones, peaches, pine and citric peel. Dry herbal-soapy bitter finish. Medium carbonation and body with a slightly parching mouthfeel. Rather outspoken for a pale ale but still nice enough.
Backlog. Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 20.05.13. Hazy dark golden. Aroma of malt sweetness and raw hop. Bitterness and Sevilla marmalade in taste. Bitterness lingering on in long aftertaste. Average carbonation. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - OCT 9, 2014
Bottle (backlog). Slightly hazy orangeish amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, toffeeish, floral and quite herbal. Flower is grapefruits, tropical fruit juice as well as some sweet malty and syrupy notes. yngwie (17168) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 25, 2013
Bottle. Under a big, creamy, off-white colored head is an almost clear dark golden body. Some lacings left. Grass, pine cones and some citrus in the aroma, with a pleasant maltyness. Pine cones and bitterness from the hops, a bit anonymous I think, but still really fine. Nice malty flavors in the back. Medium to full body with a pleasant carbonation level. Quite dry, finishing mostly bitter. Even though I score them equal, I prefer the HBC 517 edition. HBC 436 the least interesting of the three. 130111 Skinnyviking (9674) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 6, 2013
Bottle. High creamy and lasting dense white head. Hazy amber body. Fruity pear apricoty aroma that is relatively sweet. Mild grupefruit hops pine flavor with low carbonatin and a long bittersweet finish. A bit more smooth than the Lundsbak edition. jbeatty (1256) - New York, USA - AUG 28, 2013
Review from backlog, bottle tasted 09/29/2012. Pours burnt orange caramel, small head rests to an oily slick. Aroma is piney caramel hops, herbal, fresh grass and hop cones. Taste is more citrus, light grapefruit and fresh hop cones, medium bitterness. Light palate, oily. Not bad, seems like a nice dry-hopped ale.

50cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Malty and hoppy aroma with caramel, pine, spices, hints of fruits and some earthy notes. Medium sweet with a decent bitterness. Medium body with fairly average carbonation. Just before expiration, not so fresh, but quite ok. Bitter aftertaste with citrusy notes. On bottle at Håndverkerstuene , Oslo. Bb aug 2013, it’s already august. Golden color, good hoppy aromas , tropical fruits , good fruitiness- medium intensity. Caramel ; high intensity- also vanilla. Medium body & complexity. Immediate sweetness, some bitterness- ok balance. Enjoyable, but too much on the sweet caramelly side for me( or should it have been drunk earlier)

50 cl bottle @ Timo A.lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 1, 2013
Pours clear mahogany color with a small head. Aroma of resiny hops, sweet fruits, some caramel and mild metallic tones. Flavor of resiny hops, fruits, caramel malts and mild syrupy notes. Slick palate.
500 ml bottle, thanks Timo A. Pours a cloudy orange amber colour with a white head. Aroma of grass, strong herbs and some sweetish notes. Flavour of grassy hops, herbs, bread, some grapefruit and dried fruits. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a harsh, grassy, herbal finish. Rather musty and the hop profile isn?t the most interesting out there. laiti (8507) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 1, 2013
50 cl bottle @ Timo A. Batch #447, BBE 08/2013
Aroma is somewhat sweet with fruity hops, some berries and hints of vegetables. Flavour has herbal notes, some hops, gooseberry bush and hints of caramel. Finishes with strong herbal notes. Vegetable and grassy notes get stronger towards the end of the glass. Perhaps past of its prime but good still.
